I used to scream and shout
at the top of my lungs
and throw things
like a hungry beast.

But now the roars are feeble and distant
pushed down by something stronger...you.

When I want to scream you
you kiss me instead
And when I want to be violent you
you hold me in your arms
My instincts tell me to let you
and instinct doesn't lie

You can quiet the beast within me
and turn me docile and tame
and I trust that you'll take care of me
if I show you love and devotion

And if I stumble in the dark again
I can follow the light in your smiling eyes
to find my way home...to you.
