Farewell “Ugly Betty”

On January 30, 2010 Adam Rodriguez tweeted Have a GREAT weekend everybody!!! I’m on set of UB filming a scene that will make fans of the show happy despite the bad news this week!!! . Sadly, “Ugly Betty” has been canceled some days ago. Zap2it.com writes that ABC confirmed this information with the following statement:

“We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this ‘Ugly Betty’s’ final season,” a joint statement from Exec producer Silvio Horta and ABC president Steve McPherson reads. “And are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion. We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”

Additionally, Entertainment Weekly reports that the network has trimmed the show’s episode order from 22 to 20.
