From TV Shows On DVD:

After a couple of people emailed us about an interview with William Sadler where a Roswell DVD release was mentioned, we made a few calls. Well, we found out that the information is correct, and the first season should be released in early 2004. Please keep in mind this is a tentative time period and may change, but it looks like Fox has worked out the music licensing issues with the show. It looks like the number one show on the site will finally have a DVD release.

If we find out any more information we’ll post it, but for now this is all the information we have on the set.

From indiewire.com:

United Artists to Release David Gordon Green’s Latest, Still in Production

United Artists has entered into an agreement with ContentFilm to distribute David Gordon Green’s latest film, which is currently in production. The film, with a working title of “The Undertow,” will be released by UA in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, and South Africa, according to the New York-based distributor. Principal photography on the film, written by Joe Conway and Green, began April 8 in Savannah, Georgia, and will be completed at the end of this week.

Starring Dermot Mulroney (“About Schmidt”), Josh Lucas (“Sweet Home Alabama”), Jamie Bell (“Billy Elliot”), and newcomer Devon Alan, the film is about two present-day Southern brothers who run away from home following the death of their father and the subsequent appearance of their greedy, troubled uncle. ContentFilm’s John Schmidt and Michael Roban negotiated the deal with Danny Rosett and Mary Biebel of UA.

Green’s past credits include “All the Real Girls” (2003), a small-town romance which won two special jury prizes at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. He also directed the critically lauded “George Washington” (2000) about a group of children set in a struggling small Southern town.

“We are in the business of telling stories, and David Gordon Green tells exciting, evocative and emotionally rich stories,” said UA president Bingham Ray in a company release. “He and I have tried to find a project to work on together, and this one finally clicked.” UA hasn’t set a release date for the film yet.

Launched in 2001, ContentFilm is a production and distribution company based in New York with a mandate to finance and produce director-driven feature films using new technology and low budgets. United Artists is a unit of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Recent UA releases include Michael Moore’s Oscar-winning “Bowling for Columbine,” and Robert Duvall’s “Assassination Tango.” Upcoming releases include Chen Kaige’s “Together,” due out May 30.

Thanks to Kevin Ryan, the author of the next two Roswell novels, for sharing this information with us:

“I have written two books that take place immediately after the third season finale. The first one, A NEW BEGINNING, picks up the characters while they are still in the van shortly after they drive off. The second book is NIGHTSCAPE and takes place a couple of weeks later as the characters continue their journey. A NEW BEGINNING will be available in mid-June and NIGHTSCAPE will be available in mid-July. After that there will be two books by Andy Mangels and Michael A. Martin. The first one will be titled PURSUIT.

“Unfortunately, there are no plans to continue the book series after those four books because of relatively low sales on recent books. However, strong sales of these new books might change that situation.”

Let’s keep this in mind and get those book sales up, folks! Stay tuned for more information as the publication dates approach!

The music TV network scored a hit, you’ll recall, with Beyonce Knowles’ “Carmen: A Hip-Hopera.” Now they’ve moved the Emily Bronte tale to what’s being described as “the tumultuous Mendocino coastline” for the story of a gal who falls for a poor musician but very unhappily weds the scion of a wealthy family instead.

I have information that Fox has contacted Jason Katims about putting out a DVD. I can not elaborate on anymore than that, other than to say that an executive at Fox said that it was due to them being inundated with letters, emails from fans. If they can do it cost worthy, music being the concern, it will probably get done.
