According to THRfeed, the network will bring back “Lie to Me” in the summer as part of its post-season strategy. The crime series with Colin Hanks and Bradley Whitford will premiere on June 7, 2010 and will be paired with “Lie to Me”.

It’s the third change of the series title since pre-production. The mini-series was formerly titled “Jack and Dan” as well as “Code 58″.

“Past Life” will be back in the summer lineup with new episodes. In this series Nick Wechsler made a guest-appearance. The episode “Soul Music” aired on February 18.

Back Stage: You’ve been acting for a long time. Where were you in your career when you got “Roswell”?

Appleby: I had dropped out of school because I was paying for college myself and it was quite a bit of money. I got a pilot that got picked up, and I got fired. All I wanted to do was work, and I got fired. They hired a blond girl who was much more womanly looking than I was, especially at 19. So I went back to school, but when I went back to school, I was really dead-set, with a clear focus that I had to get a show. During that sophomore year Christmas break, I shot the pilot for “Roswell.” I finished sophomore year, and three days later, we found out the show got picked up.

Back Stage: What was that audition process like?

Appleby: The casting director refused to see me. Didn’t think I was talented. She pre-read me, but only as a favor to my agent, so she didn’t pay any attention. I got terrible feedback. And then, I’ve never done this before, but a friend of mine knew the director, David Nutter, and he gave David Nutter my picture and résumé. David Nutter brought me in. A few weeks later, they called back and said they wanted to see me again. I auditioned four times for other roles until they let me audition for Liz. I think I ended up auditioning seven or eight times before I screen-tested. It was a long road. [...]

No one was the right fit until “Lost” star Emilie de Ravin read for the part. Weeks later, she was on the New York set with a prime role in Pattinson’s first big post-”Twilight” film. All involved in the casting choice pointed to her immediate connection with RPattz as the reason she nabbed the part. How did the 28-year-old Australian actress establish that instant chemistry?

Emilie explains: “I don’t know. With friends, or people you date, or with family, you just sort of click, sort of get along. I don’t really know how to put your finger on those things.” Director Allen Coulter was able to identify the key ingredients that led to Emilie de Ravin’s and Robert Pattinson’s onscreen chemistry. “From the beginning, I think they both found each other amusing, so there was a lot of laughter on the set and between takes and even sometimes during takes.” He adds that it was great, because Emilie was unimpressed by the [Twilight] phenomenon and Robert was unimpressed by the phenomenon. “I think they were both a little staggered when we showed up on the street and they were mobbed. But I think they kept it light for each other, and on the set and off the set, they were pals.”

Emilie add “It was so great being able to work with someone you immediately get along with and is incredibly talented and is driven to make the film as good as we can. Having someone you can go and talk with about a scene, and it’s all very casual and easy, that made filming such a delight — having a friendship level and a commitment to the script. The way Rob and I developed our relationship onscreen was very natural and just seeing what happened with scenes, what happens in the moment.”
