Even though he hated the desert and the hot sun, he knew something was pulling him. It wasn’t like all the other times. His heart was telling him that she would be here. His lost love. After she had gone back in time to fix something she had done wrong she had never come back. But he knew that his Sita would be here, maybe not by that exact name or with her old body, but he knew she was close by. He sped by one of the road markers. ROSWELL 15 MILES He knew instantly she was in Roswell. His heart began to pound as he though about his lovely Sita. It had been almost seventeen years since he had seen her, and now he just may be able to bring her back into his life. Make her one with him again. He drove down the main street of Roswell, his eyes scanning every girl who walked down the road. He eyed a young man with brown hair who was holding hands with a young woman with curly blonde hair. He could sense something from the two of them, as if the man might be trouble. Max looked at the car passing he and Tess slowly. He sensed it, he didn’t know how, but whoever was in that car was going to have to be dealt with. As the man drove past The Crashdown he could feel her. His Sita was in there. He pounded his foot down onto the brakes and quickly looked for a parking spot. His heart was beating like there were no tomorrow. After he had found a parking spot he ran across the street and looked back, the young man and the girl were walking towards the same restaurant. Hmmm… maybe I should be careful. No! My Sita is in here; I have to see her at least. The man opened the door and looked around the café. The site of aliens had scared him a little because of the fact that they had taken his Sita away from him before, but he knew she was here. What a perfect cover, to place her back into their world. He noticed the sign which said to seat yourself and began looking for a table. His eyes drifted around until a young woman walked out from some back doors to what seemed like the kitchen. She was laughing, and her smile was so bright. Her long brown hair was tied back into a ponytail and she wore a turquoise uniform with a small alien apron. He gasped and immediately knew it was her, his lovely Sita. He could barely even breath, at least until the young man and his companion bumped into him. Max noticed how the man had been staring at Liz and bumped into him on purpose. Sure he was with Tess, but he still loved Liz. He wanted nothing more then to be with Liz, not Tess, but he had to give destiny a try. He eyed the man suspiciously, it looked as if he were stuck. He knew Liz was beautiful, but he sensed that this man knew something about her. "Excuse us." Tess quietly said. "Sure… no… problem" The man continued to stare at Liz. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. She was now talking to another waitress with short blonde hair. The girl with blonde hair reminded him of Paula, Sita’s friend. Maybe they have given her those from her past! "Oh, Liz! It looks like you have another admirer!" Maria said. She couldn’t help but notice that the man was staring at Liz. She actually couldn’t believe it, but he seemed to be staring at Liz just like Max did, except with more passion. "What are you talking about Maria?" Liz turned around and looked at her friend and then followed her gaze. Her eyes locked on the man’s and her breath caught in her throat. She couldn’t even move. Maria looked from Liz to the man and then back at Liz. It was like there was no one else in the room. "Ray?" Liz muttered under her breath. "What did you say Liz?" "Nothing…" Liz shook her head a little, but her eyes stayed locked on the young man. He looked to be about eighteen or nineteen years old. Brownish blonde hair, well built, and cute. She didn’t even notice that Max was watching the two of them with a rage in his eyes, or that Tess was walking towards her. "Can we get some service over here?" Tess asked harshly. "Yeah, sure…" Liz could barely even speak. Maria shook Liz a little and she finally broke free from the trance. "Liz, you ok?" "Yeah. I’m fine Maria." Liz looked at Maria and smiled and then walked towards Max and Tess’s booth. Usually she wouldn’t want to wait on them, but she found a strange strength in her. She had actually felt it before Max and Tess had walked in. "What can I get you?" Liz looked from Max to Tess and then back to Tess. She smiled softly to herself as her mind wandered back to that strange man who had walked in. "The usual." Max said "What’s that?" "Um, two cherry cokes and a basket of fries. Liz, are you ok?" Max looked at her, he knew something was wrong, and that man had something to do with it. "Yeah, why is everyone asking me that?" Her gaze was once again locking with the young man’s. "I dunno, you are spacing out and you don’t remember what the usual order for me is." "Oh. Well, um, sorry. I’ll go put in your order." She walked away without another glance. She had meant to go place their order, but her feet instead carried her towards the man. It was like something was forcing her over, not that she minded. "Um, you can…you can seat yourself." "Sita…" Ray didn’t mean to call her that, but he couldn’t help himself. "What?" Liz looked at him in total confusion, but she still couldn’t look away. "I mean, yeah, thanks, I think I’ll do that." He smiled softly, a smile he had always reserved just for her. His mind couldn’t even comprehend what was happening. All he could think about was this beautiful creature in front of him. After Sita had vanished she had only existed in his heart, but now she was right in front of him. He looked her over and liked how she was now a brunette instead of blonde, the change suited her. She was a lot smaller now too, but it too suited her well. She looked amazing to him. He shuffled his feet towards the table right in front of him and sat down. "What can I get you Ray?" Liz’s eyes had never left his. "How about you… I mean…how about your name…" He couldn’t believe she still knew his name and how he was being so forward, but he also couldn’t wait to be back with his love. "Liz…" "Oh…would you like to join me Liz?" His hands reached for hers instantly and she complied. She sat down across from him, oblivious to anything else going on around her. "Sure… but I can’t… not now. I have to work…I think…." "Well… I can wait… I did before…I mean….ummm…I’ll wait." He had never been so nervous before, but he hadn’t seen her for over seventeen years. Max, Maria and Tess couldn’t believe their eyes. They could feel the electricity in the air, and they all knew it was coming from the man and Liz. Tess didn’t mind, but she wanted to know who this man was at least. She did have to admit he was boyishly cute, but she quickly pushed that thought out her mind, she had to concentrate on Max. She also wanted to know why he was staring at Liz as if she were the only person in the whole café, let alone world. Maria was thinking just about the same thing. She was happy that Liz didn’t even seem bothered by Max and Tess’s presence, but she wanted to know who this man was that was obviously stealing her away. She could see the flames of passion between the two. The stare they were giving each other was past the whole soul mate thing, it way past what she had watched Liz and Max do. This was different, way different! Max could barely hold his anger in. He had never seen Liz look at anyone that way, not even him. It was as if she had always known him and he had always know her, but in an intimate way. He knew he should be this insanely jealous, but this was Liz. They were meant to be together. She was his. Max quickly brushed that thought out of his mind, he was with Tess. Well, not really, he was just testing this whole destiny thing out, he knew he didn’t love Tess, but he had to make sure before he could win Liz back. After Liz had taken Ray’s order she walked back towards the kitchen, Maria ran after her. "Ok Liz, EXPLAIN!" "I don’t know Maria, but there is something about Ray…" "Whose Ray?" "That’s the guy out there! I don’t know, but I feel like I have known him all my life, but worse is that I think I love him!" Maria couldn’t believe her ears. Just five minutes ago they were discussing how she and Liz were going to win Max and Michael back and now Liz was talking about being in love with some random customer. "Whoa…slow down girl! How can you say that you love him when you’ve never even seen him before." "That’s the thing Maria. I feel like I’ve known him my whole life! I mean... I don’t know what I mean… all I know is that I have to find out. Please cover for me!" "Ok, but as soon as you get back I want details!" "I promise!" Liz rushed upstairs and quickly changed into a pair of jeans and her red sweater. She knew Ray would like it, but then her mind slipped, so would Max. She brushed that thought out of her mind quickly though. She untied her hair and brushed it out a little and then applied some make-up. She ran back downstairs and out into the café. Her eyes searched around until she found Ray. He was sitting at the counter talking on a phone in a hushed voice. "Kalika, I think I found her. Tell Yaksha and get him to come to Roswell, New Mexico." He suddenly felt his heart begin to beat double time again as his eyes darted around the café until they focused on one thing. Sita…or rather Liz. He couldn’t breath anymore. She looked spectacular in her jeans and that red sweater looked perfect on her. His eyes then fell on her lips and all he wanted to do was kiss her. "Daddy?… Daddy? Are you there?" "I have to go Kalika. Just get yourself and Yaksha out here." He hung up abruptly and turned his at eyes back to Liz. She looked stunning. His eyes roamed over her body hungrily again. He just wanted to kiss her all over again like he had used to. He wanted her to be carrying his child again, and he wanted to be with here like he had used to. Before he knew what he was doing he found himself pulling Liz into his arms and kissing her passionately. But the weird part was that she was kissing him back just as feverishly. Max clenched his fist. He couldn’t hold his anger in anymore. As soon as the man had pulled Liz into his arms and started kissing her Max had felt his blood boil over. Did she know what she was doing to him? Tess looked at Max and couldn’t help but notice the anger and jealousy in his eyes. Maybe I should use my mind manipulation… otherwise I may lose him here… Without a second thought Tess used her powers to make Max see something completely different. His shoulders dropped and a sudden urge to kiss Tess overwhelmed him. He looked down at her and took her hand in his. He sat back down and looked at her and kissed her cheek lovingly. Ray continued to kiss Liz until he felt her need for air. Soon he hoped she wouldn’t have that problem. He looked into her eyes and smiled as his lovely Sita was now back with him. "So are you off now?" "Yeah." "You wanna go somewhere so we can talk?" "That would be nice." Liz smiled back at Ray and pulled out of his embrace. They both felt a little lost as they pulled away, but Ray reached for her hand and as soon as their hands touched they both felt complete again. He led her towards the door and he could feel his heart pounding in his body. He had never been so outgoing in public with a complete stranger, but then again this was his Sita. As the two left they heard whistles and cat calls from behind them and the two blushed. Ray opened the door of his car for Liz and then closed it as soon as she had gotten in. He couldn’t believe he had already found her. He walked around the car and got in. They drove out of town before either broke the silence. "Sorry about back there…" Ray couldn’t help but apologize. "Don’t be. I liked it… I’ve missed you" Liz couldn’t believe she was saying this, she didn’t even know him, but she did, at least she felt she did. "You remember?" Ray felt his eyes widen in both shock and happiness. "I don’t think so. All I know if that I fell like I’ve known you for a long time… and that… well don’t take this the wrong way, but I think I love you." Ray looked at her in shock and shoved his foot on the brake, slamming the car to a halt. He looked at Liz and smiled. "I love you too. I’ve missed you so much Liz." He kissed her lips softly. He could taste the tears on her lips and licked them away. "Now that I know you remember I can explain everything! I promise to explain everything… if you want me too. We just have to wait for a little bit… okay?" "I want you to." She kissed him back softly and then took his hand into hers again. Liz couldn’t help but cry because she had never been so happy before. Maria walked towards Max quietly. Tess had left a few minutes after Liz and Ray had. She had witnessed the whole scene between Liz and Ray, and she knew she had to explain this to Max before something went horribly wrong. "Max, I think we need to talk…" She could see the anger in Max’s eyes. "What was that? Or rather, who was that?" "Um, can I sit down?" "Yeah, go ahead." Max couldn’t get rid of that image of Liz and that man kissing. He had just walked up to her and pulled her into his arms and kissed her. How could Liz kiss someone she had met only minutes ago? "So I’m guessing you saw the whole little scene…" "Yeah. Maria, please tell me that Liz knows that guy. Please! I need to know that she wouldn’t just go kissing some guy she has met five minutes before." Maria became slightly annoyed at this. Max was with Tess. While he deserved to know he didn’t have the right to be jealous. He had hurt Liz so badly. "Not like it’s any of your business, but no. I’ve never seen that guy, but Liz thinks she has." "What? She thinks she has seen him before, and is that why she kissed him?" "Max, you have no right to be jealous, I just thought you should know that Liz thinks that somehow she knows him from before." "What do you mean I have no right to be jealous? I love Liz." "Yeah, great way of showing it. Next time you want to show your love for Liz… though I don’t think there will be a next time..." Maria smiled at her last comment. She knew she had hurt Max, but he had hurt Liz. She remembered how just a few nights ago Liz had been crying because she had seen Max and Tess kissing. "I just need to make sure I feel nothing for Tess before I try to get back together with Liz. I really do love her. I don’t want her to have doubts." "Like I said Max, I don’t think you’ll have a chance…I think someone else has caught her…" Maria got up quietly and left Max sitting there. Maybe she should talk to Isabel and Michael and see if they can find out about this guy, for Liz’s sake at least. Ray and Liz sat at the edge of the cliff. Their hands were entwined in each other’s and they were watching the sunset together. Ray felt Liz shiver a little and wrapped his arms around her and pull her up into his lap. A warmth fell over Liz at his touch and she felt completely safe in his arms, just as she had with Max, but this was different. It was like this was something she had done in the past. As the sun set behind the mountains Ray kissed Liz’s cheek softly and then trailed hot kisses down her neck. Liz turned around a little and kissed his lips softly and then deepened the kiss. As the two began to kiss more intensely Liz felt a sudden dizziness and then a flash came to her. -flash- A small girl with brown hair that looked almost identical to her. -flash- The same girl except a little more grown up. -flash- a young woman with blonde hair, looking almost identical to Liz, coming over to the young girl and picking her up. -flash- Ray coming over too and hugging the two and then kissing the woman. -end flash- Liz pulled back from Ray and looked at him, her eyes searching his for answers. Could he be like Max, Isabel, Michael and Tess? No, he can’t be, this feels different… he is different… "Liz, I know what you saw, but I promise I can explain, just not yet. Please, jut wait until tomorrow and then I can answer all of your questions. You know I love you and would never do anything to hurt you, but you have to wait." "I know. I can wait. I love you too. Lets get going… I need to be home soon. I have to get some homework done." Ray set Liz back on the ground and then got up. He then pulled Liz up and the two walked hand in hand back to the car. After they had gotten in they drove back home in silence. When they reached the Crashdown Ray could feel his heart breaking at having to leave Liz again. "Can I walk you in?" "I’d like that." Ray got out of the car and opened Liz’s door. After she had gotten out Ray took her hand in his and they walked into the Crashdown. Michael, Maria, Alex and Isabel were sitting in their usual booth discussing Liz and the mysterious new man in her life. As the bell rang they looked over and saw Liz being led in by someone. Liz looked over at her group of friends and smiled and then locked her eyes back on Ray. She pulled ahead of him a little and led him into the back and to her door. She hated to have to say goodnight to him. I felt like they had been kept apart for an eternity. Ray pulled Liz close and kissed her softly, but their kisses quickly became more passionate. He couldn’t believe the sensations he felt when he kissed her. Every memory he had ever had of Sita was kicked out of his head and replaced with his overwhelming need to keep Liz in his arms. Maria got up from the booth and walked into the back. Her mouth dropped open at what she saw. Ray had Liz pinned against the wall and Liz’s legs were wrapped around his waist. There was absolutely no space between the two. She watched the two continue to lock lips until Liz pulled away a little and tried to get some oxygen. "Excuse me for interrupting." Liz and Ray looked over at Maria and both knew that Maria was visibly upset. Liz felt Ray pull away slightly, his hand around her waist as he set her back on the ground. "Hi… Maria…how are you?" "Well, from what I can see, not as good as you are. Liz, we need to talk…NOW!" Maria looked at Ray and nodded that it was time he left. Ray accepted this, though not willfully. He leaned in and kissed Liz softly on her cheek as he whispered something into her ear. She smiled and kissed him back. After Ray left Maria dragged Liz into Liz’s room and made Liz sit down. "Ok, what is going on Liz?" "I don’t know for sure yet, but oh my god Maria! You wouldn’t even believe…" "No I don’t believe what you are doing! You haven’t even known this guy for five minutes and the next thing I know you were kissing him. Then you left me for four hours to go out with him and now I catch you guys making out heavier then…well just about as heavily as Michael and I were last December!" "No, Maria! That’s just the thing. I do know him! I don’t know how, but I feel like I’ve known him forever… like we had a past together…and…you’re never going to believe this!" "What?…. Liz, just tell me before I have a heart attack!" "I got a flash from Ray! I mean, well, ok… I saw myself… well not me exactly, but me, with blonde hair, and Ray was there, and there was a little girl who looked exactly like me! I know you’re going to think I’m crazy, but I think she was my daughter!" Neither Maria nor Liz had noticed that Michael, Isabel, Tess and Max were listening in on their conversation, but were soon very aware of their presence by their sudden gasps. Liz and Maria whirled around and came to four very unhappy faces. Neither Liz nor Maria knew what to say. Max spoke first. "You saw a ….a…vision with him?" Liz couldn’t even speak, her eyes were lost in his. She felt all of his emotions, especially how hurt he was. "Uh….uh….yeah…" Liz finally muttered. Max looked at her one last time before turning and leaving. Tess glared at Liz and smiled before following close behind. "Liz, you have to tell us who this guy is! If you don’t tell us we will find out by ourselves." Isabel said as she looked between Michael for agreement and Liz for understanding of what had to be done. "NO! You have no right to invade his mind Isabel. I swear, if you invade his mind I… I don’t know what I’ll do, but you can’t. Let me find out. I don’t know what is going on myself, but for once in three months I am happy, I’m in love… and if any of you try to take that away from me I will do whatever I have to do to keep him safe." Liz fled from everyone’s glaring looks. She knew she needed time alone. As she ran downstairs and through the doors she suddenly felt strong arms wrap around her and she suddenly felt safe again, just as she had when she was looking into the sunset with Ray. Ray embraced Liz for a few seconds before scooping her into his arms and taking her outside. "Liz, don’t worry, no one can hurt me. I’m more worried about you… you’re in danger Liz and I will stop at nothing to keep you safe. I want to keep you safe tonight, please… let me." Liz simply nodded her head into his chest as tears ran down her face. Ray carried her to his car and lay her in the front seat after laying the seat down flat. The two drove off towards the motel he was staying at. As they were driving he saw the young man again, the girl with curly blonde hair was trying to talk to him, but he seemed angry about something and not wanting to talk about anything. Ray now knew why this young man would be trouble, he loved Liz too, and he knew that this guy would also stop at nothing to be with Liz. He could feel inside in his heart that he had to protect Liz, at least until she could protect herself, which would be very soon. He could feel that Yaksha and Kalika were close, and he hoped that they would get her soon, he would need their help. Liz awoke suddenly in a fit. She had a dream, but it seemed more then a dream, but rather a memory. "Liz, it’s ok, you are just finally remembering everything." Ray said quietly. He had been watching her sleep since they had gotten to the hotel. She looked like an angel to him. "What’s happening to me?" Liz sobbed. Ray got up quickly, sat down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her. "It’s ok Liz. Since you got that flash you are finally remembering your past. You were having a dream about something that happened a long, long, long time ago." He tries to soothe Liz by rubbing her back, but he can tell that she is still upset. After a few more minutes Liz finally settles down, but she doesn’t let Ray let go of her. A small knock is heard through out the small hotel room and Ray immediately knows that Yaksha and Kalika are here. He reluctantly pulls away from Liz and goes to the door to answer it. When he opens the door Kalika runs in and over to Liz and hugs her. Liz starts to cry again as she feels a special bond with this little girl, and with the other man now entering the room. Yaksha looks over Liz and smiles. Ray was right, these changes suit her well. "Liz, I would like you to meet Kalika and Yaksha." Ray says. "Hello Kalika. It’s nice to meet you" Liz smiles as she hugs Kalika back. She then looks up at Yaksha and gets up off the bed. She is unsure why, but she feels as though Yaksha and her hold a special connection. ‘We do hold a special connection.’ Yaksha thinks back to her. Liz is stunned and takes a step back. "Liz, I think it is time that we explain everything…." Ray steps toward her. Liz looks at him and then nods as she takes a seat. Kalika comes over and sits on Liz’s lap. Liz can’t help but smile at the little girl whom she also feels to have a connection with. Yaksha looks from Kalika and then Ray who nods that Yaksha should explain. "Liz, I’m going to start seventeen years ago and then I will go back from there… is that ok?" "Yes, that’s fine." "Seventeen years ago there lived a woman named Sita. She was kind and caring, but she had made one mistake a long time ago, and if she didn’t go back in time to fix it everything in her future would be ruined. Two aliens, or rather spiritual beings of a higher stature I guess you could call them, Alanda and Gaia gave her this chance. She had to go back in time to make sure that an evil man, Landulf did not take her blood. She had to replay the whole time period over to find her one mistake, and when she found it she was given a chance to live from the beginning again. Now that you are confused I will start from the beginning." Liz nods, not sure is she actually believes this, but something in her heart and mind tell her to. "The beginning starts almost five thousand years ago. That is how old Sita was. Ray is almost two hundred years old and Kalika here is about one hundred years old." Liz looked at Ray and then at Kalika. She looked to be maybe twelve or thirteen years old, not one hundred. "Five thousand years ago I made Sita a vampire, like myself, Ray and Kalika. She was twenty years old when I made her a vampire. She was married to Rama and had a daughter Lalita, and I took all of this away form her. Sita lived alone for almost forty-five hundred years. She would roam the world and would meet many different people. She was extremely powerful. She met Ray sometime after and they fell in love. She had a daughter, Kalika. Before she had gone back in time I had been injured badly enough so that I was going to die, so I gave her my blood and she became all the more powerful. Then Kalika here gave her life to Sita too so as to save her. Sita became even more powerful from Kalika’s blood. Ray too died. But, when Sita choose to go back to the beginning she choose to erase the past, though not completely. When Sita’s daughter grew up and had a daughter she named her Sita, like her mother who had died long ago. I made Sita a vampire, as I knew it was right again. She lived her life as almost an exact replica of her grandmother’s. She too fell in love with Ray and again had Kalika. One day Sita disappeared only to say that we would find her in seventeen years, but she would not be in the same form or have the same name. She had gone back to correct another mistake. Liz, you are Sita." Liz looked from Ray and then to Yaksha. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Ray looked at her and then at Kalika who was holding her breath in hopes that Liz would believe all of this. "Oh… ok. Oh… I get it Michael and Max put you up to this… right?" "I’m sorry, but we don’t know a Michael or Max." Yaksha replied. "You guy’s are serious… aren’t you?" Ray, Kalika and Yaksha nodded. "So… am I a vampire?" Liz asked. "No. When Sita went back to Alanda and Gaia she knew that when and if she returned she would be born again as someone completely different, but also completely human." "So she’s my daughter?" Liz looks lovingly at Kalika. "Yes she was, and Ray was your lover." Liz looks up at Ray and her smile widens. "What do you mean was?" Liz asks. "Sorry, Kalika is your daughter… and Ray is your lover." Yaksha looks from Liz to Ray and watches how their eyes lock and the smiles on their faces widen. "But…how? I mean… I’m so different…it can’t be possible…can it?" "We can change that… if you will let us." Yaksha looks at Ray for his acceptance and Ray nods. "You mean…what do you mean?" "I mean that we…I can make you a vampire again. I can turn you back into the Sita we all knew and loved. What I can do for you is something no one else on this earth can do to you. You’ve got to understand. I don’t want you to have to go through this all by yourself. You are a very pretty thing and you remind me of Sita so much, but what I can do for you is something so great and wonderful. There’s no one else on earth that can do what I can do. You’re never going to make it alone, and I have so much to offer you. I want to be your man." Ray stated, his eyes filled with passion "I know I should want to do that right away, but I can’t make a decision like that right away. I mean I would love to be with my family again… but I need to think about it too.. I mean I have a really different life here." "Yes, I know all about it. I am sorry that we did not come sooner, but something was keeping us back, and we had no way to help you. I would love to meet Max and thank him personally." Ray says as he looks into Liz’s eyes. "I’m not sure that would be such a good idea…." Ray froze at Liz’s words and his eyes widened in fear as everything dawned on him. He smiled to himself as he figured this could be used to his advantage. "No, I insist on meeting the man who saved you. I must tell him how grateful I am for saving my love’s life. I know his secret, but I swear with my life I will not tell." Ray smiled at Liz and she felt like she was melting inside. Not even Max could make her feel this way sometimes. "Ok… I guess…" "Now, I think you have had a long day, why don’t you rest." Liz nodded at Yaksha’s words and lay down to rest. Her mind was turning with all the recent information, she knew it was all true, but she just couldn’t believe that she had been chosen to become Sita’s reborn spirit. She had a daughter, a lover and a brother, in a weird way. "Oh, and Liz, I forgot to tell you, in Sita’s first life, I was her brother." Liz’s eyes widened at Yaksha’s comment but soon everything became a blur as she went back to sleep. |
