Hugged your friends,
Kissed your mama goodbye.
Baby in your arms and a
Tear in your eye.
Twelve-hundred miles and
You never asked why from me.

Me and the baby and you
Side-by-side.
We all knew we was there
For a long, hard ride.
No where to run and
No where to hide it seems.

Honk the horn when we
Cross the state line.
Woke up the baby and
She started to cry.
I must have known what
We were going to find.

This ain't nothing but
A heartbreak town.
Square people in a world
That's round and they
Watch you dancing without
The sound.
It ain't nothing.
No it ain't nothing, no.
You take your number and
You stand in line and they
Watch to see how high
You're gonna climb.
Pat on the back, better
Luck next time.
It ain't nothing.
No it ain't nothing but
A heartbreak town.

Stardust, well it does
Funny things.
It can make you cuss.
It can make you sing.
When you need a touch
It gets hard to explain
Some days.

Seen 'em rise and I've
Seen 'em fall.
Some get nothing and,
Lord, some get it all.
Some just run while others
Crawl away.

Hold my hand, Baby,
Don't let go.
I've got some front money
And I've got the next
Show and I'm, I'm gonna
Need you down this
Yellow brick road.

This ain't nothing but
A heartbreak town.
Square people in a world
That's round and they
Watch you dancing without
The sound.
It ain't nothing.
No it ain't nothing, no.
You take you number and
You stand in line and they
Watch to see how high
Your gonna climb.
Pat on the back, better
Luck next time.
It ain't nothing.
No it ain't nothing but
A heartbreak town.

My dearest Alex,

You've done so much. You kept me alive these thirty-three years. When you come home today I will be gone. I love you. God knows I do. But I have to find the others.

I know we promises to go our separate ways. To keep apart. And this may put me in danger. But I have to find them. To find Liz and Maria. Find Max.

Stay here. Wait for me. I'll be back someday. Tell Delilah I love her every day. She doesn't need her mother. She needs to hide like the rest of us. Run and hide. Hide and run some more. That's been my whole life.

And now I must go. It will be a hard journey in my old age. I don't even know if they are still alive.

As long as I've been with you I've seen how strong you really are. Stay strong now, Alex. For me. For Delilah. Don't follow me. It could put you in danger.

I hear you coming home now. I must leave. I love you.

Love Always,
Isabel Whitman
