"Gray," Aisling calls. "Will you stop eating those strawberries and go get your brother out of the water, it'll be dark soon."

Her eldest son has a weakness for the delicate fruit just like his namesake.

It's been twenty-one years since that fateful day when Gray Ghost healed Geoffrey and left for his home.

She looks skyward and remembers a recent vision of Gray, battle weary and frustrated that his efforts to resolve the civil conflict which has escalated since his return home.

Aisling is reminded of the civil unrest and rebellions after William of Normandy defeated the Saxons in the Battle of Hastings. Unlike Pevensey and surrounding towns that were looted and sacked, the Welsh borders, where she lived with her Norman father were settled relatively peacefully probably due to her father marrying a local English Lord's daughter.

Eight-year-old Gray approaches his mother after retrieving his four-year-old brother Maximillian from the shallow waters near the waterfall.

"Mother, tell us the story of Gray Ghost again." The two boys rush over to their mother.

Aisling puts down her needlepoint of the Parker Coat Of Arms that she had been working on and reaches for her youngest and enfolds him in a blanket to dry him from his swim.

"Don't you ever get tired of listening to that story?" She ruffles Max's hair with the blanket.

"Please mother, we love that story." Both boys plead while batting doe eyes framed by spikey long lashes.

"It'll have to wait until bedtime because we should start for home or your father will be worried." Aisling looks to the sky where the evening star has just made an appearance and leads the small boys down the well-worn path to her Ancestral home. Geoffrey, her husband of ten years, meets them at the end of the path. "I was just coming to fetch you." He swings Max into his arms and bends to kiss Aisling.

"Geoffrey, I know these woods as well as or better than you do. Why do you worry so?" Aisling smiles up to the one and only man she's ever loved.

"I miss you when you're away from me. Coming to fetch you is an excuse to see you," his voice deep and heady with controlled passion.

Aisling smiles and they continue on to the manor where the boy's nurse meets them and leads them away for the evening meal.

"I noticed the evening star low in the sky. Any visions of Gray today." Geoffrey asks as a frown furrows his brow.

"No, But I feel things aren't going well. It's so frustrating knowing that I won't be able to help him in my lifetime." Aisling sighs as she lays out the tapestry she has been working on for over a year.

"Aye, You've finished it," Geoffrey lightly touches the fine needle work of the woven clothe depicting his family history and colors - Gray, blue and gold.

Aisling playfully slaps his hand away. "Don't soil it with your dirty hands, I still have a few finishing touches before we can display it."

Geoffrey eyes fix on the broken spiral surrounding a triangle before lifting his gaze to his wife's. "People will ask what the emblem means Ais, What will you tell them?"

"I will say that it's the whirlpool created by the waterfall where I first knew that I loved you. " She bats her eyes and blows him a kiss.

Geoffrey blushes and moves to her side and places his arms around her before nipping her ear with his teeth. "They may not question that but they will question the picture of the crescent moon, the ten pointed star and the handprint. I even question your choice on how you have chosen to depict "Our Family" history.

"Geoffrey dear, you do realize that if it wasn't for Gray there's a good possibility that you would not be here right now. More than likely you would have bled to death from the wounds you suffered from that boar." Aisling gently but graphically reminds him.

"What if I add the waterfall and some more trees representing the park right about here?" She points to a non-cluttered spot on the tapestry.

He laughs and encircles her from behind, his chin resting in the crock of her neck. "I can live with that but our ancestors will have a lot of explaining to do one day."

"I promised the boys I'll tell the story of Gray Ghost before they go to bed for the night. Will you join us?" She asks over her shoulder and feels him nod his head yes.
