Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nick Wechsler, 22, moved to L.A. five years ago and within months was cast in the TV movie, Full Circle, the Western series “The Lazarus Man” and the indie flick Chicks Man. Last year he landed on teh WB’s “Roswell” playing Kyle, and though he may have lost shiri Appleby to Jason Behr, in real life he’s plenty appreciated by females.<\/p>\n
Carol Ann Leif: Do you get tired of hearing that your voice sounds exactly like Christian Slater’s?
\nNick Wechsler: God, Man! I don’t do it on purpose. I just talk through my nose. I can’t help it.<\/p>\nQ: Did you always want to be an actor?
\nA: Yeah, since I was in the ninth grade and saw th eplay Tartuffe at my high school. I thought “Man this stinks. I can do better than them.”<\/p>\nQ: Good thing you didn’t see the New York Shakespeare Festival. What did you want to be before you had dreams of acting? A fireman?
\nA: I can’t say fireman? Actually, all my dreams were equally as impossible as being an actor. I wanted to be in a rock band. I really wish I had musical talent.<\/p>\nQ: Why did you play the witch in a high school production of Hansel and Gretal?
\nA: Don’t pick on me. I didn’t want to play Hansel [laughing] and I guess it’s not necessary to say that I didn’t want to play Gretel. So, I played the witch.<\/p>\nQ: Growing up in New Mexico, did you know about the history of Roswell?
\nA: Yes, but I never went there.<\/p>\nQ: Do you believe in aliens?
\nA: Yep, a little bit. I’ve always been interested in the idea of aliens, though I’ve never seen one.<\/p>\nQ: Is your Roswell character ever going to get a girl?
\nA: [Laughs] Oh god, I really hope so. But, I don’t think he’ll ever hook up with Liz [Shiri Appleby] again.<\/p>\nQ: How about a hot alien babe?
