\nAtlanta, 9:00am, October 2, 2000) by Jayme Akers (jla0507).<\/p>\nS: On the phone, we have Brendan Fehr (pronounced it fear) of
\nRoswell, who plays Michael on the show and\u2026welcome to the show, Brendan.
\nB: Thank you very much.
\nS: Nice to meet you.
\nB: Nice to meet you as well.
\nV: So, I understand you and Max are kinda gonna go at it tonight.
\nV: Is that true?
\nB: Mmm\u2026
\nV: No?
\nB: Mmm\u2026Yeah, we\u2019re not getting along too well these days.
\nV: Why? You should be good buds; you should be, you know, a good
\nsupport system for one another.
\nB: Yeah, but you know, I\u2019m a hard-headed character and\u2026
\nV: Yes, you are
\nB: Well, you know, we differ on the way we think things should be
\nhandled, so\u2026
\nS: Yeah, for aliens, you two get a little pissy with each
\n[Laughter]\nB: I know, we\u2019re like a bunch of little girls.
\nS: Yeah.
\n[Laughter]\nV: But you have great hair
\nB: Thanks.
\nS: Yeah, ET never had hair like that. Hey, you gotta be excited about
\nthe fan base for this show. You know, even here in Atlanta, we got a fax
\nfrom a bunch of Roswell people who had a Roswell party her, was it Friday or
\nSaturday night, Vikki?
\nV: It was Saturday night; it was huge and yeah, I mean, at first
\nthere was word that Roswell was gonna be canceled and then I guess there was
\njust this deluge of people saying \u201cno you can\u2019t possible do this\u201d, so you\u2019re
\nback again.
\nB: Yeah, yeah\u2026we had a bunch of fans, you know, with their support,
\nsending in letters and Tabasco Sauce was a big thing and stuff like that.
\nAnd, uh, you know, we got half a season, so you know, we will see if we get
\npicked up for a full one.
\nV: Are you really big into sci-fi yourself?
\nB: No, no\u2026
\nV: Not at all?
\nB: No, I\u2019m not into anything. I don\u2019t know\u2026I don\u2019t know what my
\ninterests are anymore. I just work and sleep.
\nV: How did you get into acting?
\nB: Um\u2026I just, my manager just\u2026my now-manager\u2026just came up to me (I
\nhappened to be in his building) and he asked me if I wanted to be on TV.
\nS: (Laughs) So you weren\u2019t doing acting; you never thought about it
\nand some guy just saw you\u2026
\nV: What were you doing?
\nB: Yeah, I was enrolled in a university.
\nS: Going where?
\nB: The University of Manitoba, up in Canada, doing\u2026I was gonna go
\ninto education
\nS: Oh, okay, are you Canadian?
\nB: Yeah.
\nS: Oh, all right, where you from?
\nB: Vancouver and Winnipeg.
\nS: Oh, what a beautiful city Vancouver is.
\nB: Yeah.
\nV: That\u2019s pretty incredible.
\nB: Yeah, so, you know, it\u2019s that whole Cinderella-type story and,
\nyeah, things are going well.
\nV: So, are you anything like Michael, you character on Roswell?
\nB: Uh\u2026not really. You know, I can get a little pissy like him, but
\nthat\u2019s about it.
\n[Laughter]\nV: Can you tell us anything else? What\u2019s gonna happen tonight?
\nB: Umm\u2026there\u2019s, I mean, the whole season picks starts off after the
\nsummer, you know, we all come back or whatever, or, Liz comes back from
\nvacation and, you know, we\u2019ve kind of all gone our separate ways over the
\nsummer, waiting for things to\u2026you know, hit the fan. And in this episode, I
\nget framed for murder.
\nV: (gasp) Oh, no!!
\nB: And I get put in jail and we gotta kinda cover up.
\nS: Yeah. But can\u2019t you just beam right outta jail. Isn\u2019t that\u2026wait,
\nthat\u2019s a different show.
\nV: That\u2019s not his thing, no.
\nS: You guys can\u2019t beam anywhere.
\n[Laughter]\nS: Do you get into the storylines at all, Brendan? Are you kind of
\nexcited to get the next script or\u2026?
\nB: Yeah, you\u2019re always excited to see what they\u2019re conjuring up next.
\nThis season seems to be going pretty well. It\u2019s gonna be a lot more exciting
\nthan last season in terms of the action and stuff like that so\u2026yeah, you\u2019re
\nalways interested in how they\u2019re developing your character and stuff like
\nthat, so\u2026yeah, it\u2019s always fun. I don\u2019t watch the episodes really.
\nV: You don\u2019t?
\nB: No, you know, you spend 120 hours filming t\u2026you\u2019re kind of done. I
\nfast-forward to all my scenes and watch those and that\u2019s it.
\n[Laughter]\nV: But you miss all that great music then.
\nB: Yes\u2026well, they don\u2019t got any, they don\u2019t got too much heavy metal
\nin there, so\u2026
\n[Vikki laughs]\nS: So, Brendan, do I read you correctly? It kinds sounds like, with
\nthe story that you told of this guy seeing you and saying \u201cHey , you wanna
\nbe on TV\u201d, are you just kinda riding this out and, you know, if it goes
\nfurther from here in acting, you\u2019ll take it, but if it doesn\u2019t you\u2019ll maybe
\ngo back to school or something?
\nB: Oh, yeah, I could survive, I mean, you know, I\u2019m gonna ride that
\nas long as possible. You bust your balls and you try and do it right , you
\ntry and do it good, and I would definitely, this would something, you know,
\nI\u2019d wanna do for the\u2026for as long as I could, but no, if it never worked out,
\npeople thought I sucked and, you know thought I wasn\u2019t cool enough to be on
\nTV or movies, then, you know, I\u2019d say \u201cScrew you\u201d and go back up to Canada
\nand go to school.
\nV: And the love interests on the show, are they gonna be different
\nthis season? The same?
\nB: Umm\u2026everyone\u2019s kinda got the same person, but the dynamics between
\nthem have changed a little bit. Between Max and Liz and me and Maria. A
\ncouple other wrenches have been thrown in and some other girls come in and
\nvice versa and stuff like that. And with everything, with us trying to
\ndevelop the sci-fi ,that in itself in kind of a distraction to both me and
\nhim. So, the dynamics have changed, but, you know, in terms of who likes who
\nand all that, it\u2019s kinda remained the same, so you got those
\nalready-existing relationships, but we\u2019re trying to put a new, you know, you
\ngot a little different twist to it.
\nV: A new twist\u2026
\nS: So, Brendan, you think you and Max and the guys from Roswell
\ncould take Dawson and his buddies from the Creek?
\n[Laughter]\nB: Yeah. I think we\u2019d kick their asses.
\nS: Yeah. I just wondered.
