\nPrimetime Metered Market Ratings: ABC, Fox, CBS and NBC Neck and Neck<\/p>\nAlthough it may have slipped 25 percent from opening night levels on Sunday (15.1\/22), the conclusion of ABC’s Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows (11.3\/16) was enough for ABC to take the night with a three-tenth of a rating point advantage over second place Fox. In a four way horse race separated by just five-tenths of a rating point CBS fell to an unprecedented third overall with a two-hour (8-10 p.m.) edition of NBC’s Dateline (9.1\/13) enough for fourth place NBC to trail first place ABC by just 5 percent.<\/p>\n
While CBS 8-10 p.m. comedies King of Queens (8.9\/13), Yes, Dear (8.2\/12), Everybody Loves Raymond (12.5\/18) and Becker (10.5\/15) were all at or about typical metered market levels, the Tiffany network took a tumble at 10 p.m. with Family Law (7.8\/12) falling to third with a 17 percent ratings deficit from NBC’s second place Third Watch (9.4\/14).<\/p>\n
Moving back to ABC, had it not been for a lackluster fifth place finish for 8-9 p.m. special The Best Commercials You’ve Never Seen (and Some You Have, 6.6\/ 9), their advantage over Fox (Boston Public 8.7\/13, Ally McBeal 10.1\/14) would have been greater.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, it was more of the same with The WB’s sinking (and soon-to-be hiatus bound) Roswell (3.9\/ 6) dropping 43 percent from 7th Heaven (6.9\/10) and UPN (Moesha 3.9\/ 6, The Parkers 4.0\/ 6, The Hughleys 4.2\/ 6, Girlfriends 3.6\/ 5).<\/p>\n
