Behr nails down ‘Shipping News’ role for Miramax<\/p>\n

LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) — Jason Behr (The WB Network’s
\n“Roswell”) has joined Kevin Spacey, Cate Blanchett, Judi Dench, Rhys Ifans
\nand Pete Postlethwaite in Miramax Films’ “The Shipping News” for director
\nLasse Hallstrom. The project is shooting in Halifax, Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n

Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning best seller of the same name by E. Annie
\nProulx, “Shipping” tells the story of a newspaper reporter (Spacey) who
\nmoves with his young daughter, Bunny, to his ancestral home on the
\nNewfoundland coast after his cheating wife is killed in a car accident.
\nWhile in the quaint town, the reporter writes the shipping news for the
\nlocal paper, the Gammy Bird, as he confronts his private demons and falls in
\nlove with a lonely single mother (Julianne Moore). Behr will play Dennis
\nBuggit, a local carpenter battling his own demons and whose estranged father
\n(Scott Glenn) owns the local newspaper.<\/p>\n

Identical 8-year-old triplets Kaitlyn, Lauren and Alyssa Gainer (“Cast
\nAway”) have been cast as Bunny.<\/p>\n

Rob Cowan, Linda Goldstein Knowlton, Irwin Winkler and Leslie Holleran are
\nproducing.<\/p>\n

Behr is repped by WMA and manager Robert Stein. The Gainer triplets are
