‘Roswell’ star in Halifax<\/strong><\/p>\n

One “Roswell” star is making a jump to the big screen.<\/p>\n

Jason Behr, who plays Max Evans on The WB show, has taken a role in “The Shipping News,” zap2it.com reports.<\/p>\n

Oscar winners Kevin Spacey (“American Beauty”) and Judi Dench (“Shakespeare In Love”) have already signed on for the film, along with Cate Blanchett (“Talented Mr. Ripley”).<\/p>\n

The movie is filming in Halifax, N.S., and is being directed by Lasse Hallstrom, who helmed the Oscar-nominated “Chocolat”.<\/p>\n

The movie is based on the book by E. Annie Proulx about a reporter (Spacey) who moves to Newfoundland with his daughter after his wife dies in a car accident.<\/p>\n

The reporter gets a job writing the shipping news for a small local paper, and has a romance with a single mother (Julianne Moore).<\/p>\n

Jason will play Dennis Buggit, whose father owns the newspaper.<\/p>\n
