“Law & Order” Rules In Favor Of NBC

LOS ANGELES (UltimateTV.com) – Overnight Metered Market Ratings for Wednesday, January 26, 2000.<\/p>\n

NBC won Wednesday night (January 26) in the overnight-metered markets, averaging a 12.3 rating\/18 share (9.7\/14) thanks to high scores from the “Law & Order.” ABC placed a distant second with an 8.2\/12 (8.9\/13), with help from the “The Drew Carey Show.” CBS placed third with a 7.7\/11 (9.2\/14), getting a boost from its Wednesday movie, “Stolen Hearts.” FOX pulled up in fourth place with a 5.7\/8 (5.4\/8), thanks to the “Beverly Hills, 90210.” Meanwhile UPN grabbed fifth with a 4.0\/6 (3.7\/6), and the WB wasn’t far behind that with a 3.9\/6 (4.0\/6).<\/p>\n

NBC started off the night with a special episode of the revived game show, “Twenty One,” which grabbed an 11.2\/17 (10.3\/15) in the 8 p.m. hour. A new “The West Wing” called the shots at 9 p.m., bringing in an 11.2\/16 (8.3\/12). The political drama was followed by the high scoring “Law & Order,” which raked in a 14.6\/23 (10.5\/17) for the night’s top honors.<\/p>\n

ABC led off the night with “Two Guys and A Girl,” taking a 7.8\/12 (7.9\/12). “Norm” followed at 8:30 with a 6.9\/10 (7.1\/11). An encore episode of “The Drew Carey Show” at 9 p.m. grabbed a 9.6\/14 (9.8\/14). A repeat of “Spin City,” starring Michael J. Fox scored an 8.8\/13 (9.0\/13) at 9:30 p.m. And “20\/20” averaged an 8.2\/13 (9.8\/16) in the 10 p.m. hour.<\/p>\n

CBS led off Wednesday with “City of Angels,” nabbing a 6.9\/10 (7.3\/11) at 8 p.m. At 9 p.m., the CBS Wednesday night movie, “Stolen Hearts” ran away with an 8.0\/12, peaking at 10:30 p.m. with an 8.1\/13 (last week, “Murder in the Mirror,” 10.1\/15).<\/p>\n

FOX started the night with the “Beverly Hills, 90210,” which logged a 6.9\/10 (6.5\/10). “…90210” was followed by “Get Real” at 9 p.m., taking a 4.5\/7 (4.3\/6).<\/p>\n

UPN filled the primetime hours with an encore “7 Days,” pulling a 3.0\/5 (3.0\/5). “Star Trek Voyager” followed at 9 p.m., capturing a 4.9\/7 (4.5\/7).<\/p>\n
