Mostly Bad News For ROSWELL Fans!!<\/strong>

\nHercules!!<\/p>\nTHE GOOD: \u201cRoswell\u201d was the \u201con the bubble\u201d show most USA Today readers voted to save, according to paper\u2019s Tuesday edition. Read all about it here. (\u201cThe Geena Davis Show\u201d and \u201cThe Weber Show,\u201d for those keeping track, received the fewest votes.)<\/p>\n
THE BAD: Media buyers and ad execs have been e-mailing us all day, suggesting that Fox (which produces \u201cRoswell\u201d) has already gotten unofficial word that, despite the fan outcry, the WB will definitely not renew \u201cRoswell\u201d for next season. Fox, you\u2019ll recall, also produces one of the WB\u2019s highest-rated shows, \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer,\u201d which is leaving the WB for UPN at the end of this season. The WB is said to be none too happy about Fox moving \u201cBuffy\u201d to UPN. The WB also has another teen-alien series, “Smallville,” from sister company Warner Bros. Television, set to debut this autumn. Official word of \u201cRoswell\u2019s\u201d cancellation is expected at the WB\u2019s New York \u201cupfront\u201d presentation in two weeks.<\/p>\n
THE UGLY: TV Guide now indicates the WB will air \u201cRoswell\u2019s\u201d so-called \u201clost episode,\u201d \u201cOff the Menu\u201d (the one in which Brody Davis learns there are aliens living in Roswell), on May 14 (exactly one week before what we now assume will be the series finale). It\u2019ll be interesting to see how the show accounts for the lack of continuity; this episode takes place before the prom, before Alex dies, and before Max takes off Tess\u2019 bra.
