According to the memo, the moves are being made to get the jump on the copious competition and to build on the momentum of the prior week\u2019s \u201cEnterprise\u201d premiere, which is expected to capture a huge audience. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

UPN has bumped up the season premieres of its newly acquired series “Buffy
\nthe Vampire Slayer” and “Roswell” by a week. They now debut on Tuesday, Oct.
\n2, at 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 9 p.m. respectively.<\/p>\n
The network made the move so that “Buffy” would be closer to the premiere of
\n“Enterprise,” the new “Star Trek” series, which debuts Sept. 26.<\/p>\n
“Buffy,” which ended its run on The WB with a what appeared to be a fitting
\nseries (rather than season) finale, starts its UPN stint with a two-hour
