\nnetwork start to shoot poisoned arrows at one
\nanother. UPN
\nand the WB, the two mini-networks that seem to be
\ncaught in
\na duel to the death, got the fireworks started
\nearly this year.
\nReferring to the fact that UPN has acquired the WB
\nshows
\n“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Roswell,” a WB
\npublic-relations executive came up with a new
\nnickname for
\nUPN-the Used-Parts Network. The next day, a UPN
\nexec
\nresponded by saying that, considering the quality
\nof the WB’s
\nnew lineup of sitcoms, perhaps it should hire the
\nnetwork’s PR
\nstaff to punch up of the network’s comedies. The
