For the third time since its 1999 debut, UPN&#8217;s<br \/>\nteen-alien drama is teetering on the verge of<br \/>\ncancellation, according to the New York Daily News.<br \/>\nStarting March 5, UPN will shelve the show for seven<br \/>\nweeks to make room for two comedy series, As If and<br \/>\nThe Random Years. The network is also reportedly<br \/>\ncutting back on its episode order for Roswell.<\/p>\n<p>Roswell, which follows the lives of aliens disguised<br \/>\nas cute teens in New Mexico, debuted in 1999 on WB.<br \/>\nThe show&#8217;s ratings were so shaky at the end of season<br \/>\none that fans sent thousands of bottles of Tabasco<br \/>\nsauce \u2014 the aliens&#8217; favorite condiment \u2014 to network<br \/>\nexecs to encourage them to pick up the show for<br \/>\nanother year. Devotees sent another shipment at the<br \/>\nend of last season, but WB ditched the show and UPN<br \/>\npicked it up.<\/p>\n<p>Can a mass mailing of hot sauce save the series? It&#8217;s<br \/>\ngoing to be a tough fight.
