Roswell Heads For Cliffhanger<\/strong><\/p>\n

Roswell, The WB’s hit teen alien television
\nseries, is headed into a season-ending
\ncliffhanger with some new characters,
\nexecutive producer Jason Katims told SCI FI
\nWire. “There is one new character we’re
\nintroducing this season: Tess, a new girl in
\ntown [played by newcomer Emilie De Raven],
\nwho comes in and upsets the apple cart for
\nvarious reasons,” Katims said in an interview.<\/p>\nKatims said the new character will debut in an
\nepisode in mid-March. “She comes in, and one
\nof the [male] characters in our show … is sort
\nof drawn to her, despite himself,” he said. “And
\nit kind of … creates some problems.”<\/p>\nKatims added that the three alien leads, Max,
\nIsabel and Michael, will eventually find the
\nperson they’ve been seeking. “By the end of
\nthe season, they’ll discover the fourth alien
\nthey’ve been searching for all this time. The
\ncliffhanger at the end of the season is how
\ncertain people of the group become divided
\nbecause of the presence of the fourth alien,
\nand it splits them up. … Once this begins to
\nhappen, the stakes become extremely high, and
\nthere’s a lot of danger and a definitely potential
\nfor people to die.”<\/p>\nA cliffhanger of a different sort is creating
\nanxiety for Katims and his crew: whether The
\nWB will renew the freshman show for a second
\nyear. “We haven’t heard,” he said. “My
\nunderstanding is, we’ll probably not know
\nofficially until May, when they announce their
\nseason.” But, he added, “We’re hopeful, but you
\nnever know for sure. The WB has been real
\nsupportive of the show, beginning first of all
\nwith buying the show when it was originally
\ndeveloped for Fox, then giving it a really strong
\nlaunch and really being behind it. … And they
\nhaven’t changed that. …We’re just going to
\nwork really hard and make the final episodes of
\nthe season great and make it impossible for
