This is just the latest awards it&#8217;s<br \/>\nwon.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nHorror fans unite to laud M.A.Galluzzo &#038; R.S.V.P. at Screamfest 2002<br \/>\nsnatching awards for Best Actor and Best Cinematography.<\/p>\n<p>Venice Beach, California 21 October 2002<\/p>\n<p>After picking up rave reviews from the Hollywood press and Best of<br \/>\nFest Award at the Malibu Film Festival in August, making an encore<br \/>\nappearance at the Palisades Film Festival, and jaunting down to the Heart of<br \/>\nTexas for the Austin Film Festival and Writers Conference, RSVP wrapped up<br \/>\nOctober with a two time victory at Horror Film Festival Screamfest last<br \/>\nnight.<\/p>\n<p>Best Cinematography was accepted by Mark Anthony Galluzzo on behalf of<br \/>\nfellow cameramen Thom Stukas and Christian Grosselfinger. Whilst Best Actor<br \/>\nwent to RSVP thesp Rick Otto whos performance as the psychopathic Nick<br \/>\nCollier was obviously frightening good .<\/p>\n<p>Fellow attendees of the genre fest included Horror Legends Wes Craven and<br \/>\nWilliam Friedkin. The closing ceremony was covered by Sci-Fi Roadshow.<br \/>\nT<br \/>\nhe West-Coast premiere of R.S.V.P. last month received much anticipation<br \/>\nwith an advance review by LA Times film critic, Kevin Thomas, in which he<br \/>\ndeclared the Hitchcockian Black Comedy to be: Diabolically Clever!<br \/>\nand A matter of increasing suspense!<\/p>\n<p>Variety\u00b9s Scott Foundas later raved about the outrageous spoof as An<br \/>\nexperiment in unpleasantness! ; The most despicable cast of characters to<br \/>\ndescend on Las Vegas since Peter Bergs Very Bad Things!<\/p>\n<p>The Boston Phoenixs Bill Rodriguez, who caught the film prior to its East<br \/>\nCoast Premiere at the Rhode Island Intl Film Fest the prior week agreed with<br \/>\nFoundas, lauding R.S.V.P. as a Splendid Send-Up! and went on to<br \/>\nexclaim Homage and Spoof do a Dance of Death! Straight out of Hitchcock.<br \/>\nGalluzzo does rightS dinging and tooting all the right filmic bells and<br \/>\nwhistles!<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the victory, fans were treated to a personal appearance by<br \/>\nGalluzzo along with cast members Daniel Joseph and, believe it or not, a<br \/>\nshocking public appearance by Kevin Smiths cult icon sidekick Jay Mewes (of<br \/>\nJay &#038; Silent Bob fame) at the film\u00b9s opening night. Rumors of whos<br \/>\ndeath by the Chicago Sun Times were quickly put to rest afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>An old-fashioned yet irreverent comedy romp, R.S.V.P. cleverly mixes<br \/>\nthe spirit of Frank Capras Arsenic and Old Lace with Alfred Hitchcocks Rope.<br \/>\nSet in the heart of sin city itself, Las Vegas, Nevada, R.S.V.P.<br \/>\nfollows a group of twenty-somethings on their last and we do mean last &#8211;<br \/>\nnight of collegiate bliss.
