Lookin&#8217; forward to it.&#8221;<\/em> William Sadler <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Wm_Sadler\/status\/580313977424478208\" target=\"_blank\">tweeted<\/a> on March 24th, 2015. <\/p>\n<p>Based on James Patterson\u2019s novel &#8220;The Thomas Berryman Number&#8221;, the project centers on Special Agent Natalia \u201cNat\u201d Chappel (Anika Noni Rose) a cool, laser-focused, tough as nails FBI agent who works in the Criminal Section of the Department of Civil Rights Division. She finds herself caught between the radical family she was born into and the professional family she has chosen.<\/p>\n<p>William Sadler <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Wm_Sadler\/status\/580771230157963264\" target=\"_blank\">wrote<\/a> on the next day <em>&#8220;2nd day of filming on <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ForJustice\" target=\"_blank\">#ForJustice<\/a> and I can&#8217;t wait. Great energy on the set. Great project. And Ava DuVernay <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AVAETC\" target=\"_blank\">@AVAETC<\/a> is extraordinary.&#8221;<\/em> Anika Noni Rose has been tapped for the lead in CBS\u2019 civil rights crime drama. Shawn Hatosy, Phylicia Rashad, Tim Blake Nelson and Rachel Boston are also starring. <\/p>\n<p>Rene Balcer wrote the pilot. He will executive produce alongside James Patterson, Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, Bill Robinson, Berry Welsh, Leopoldo Gout and Ava DuVernay, who will also direct the pilot.<\/p>\n<p>Director Ava DuVernay shared a first photo from the table read on March 18th, 2015.
