The movie is based on the book &#8220;Charlie Wilson&#8217;s War: The Extraordinary Storyof the Largest Covert Operation in History&#8221; by George Crile.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a drama on a Texas congressman Charlie Wilson&#8217;s covert dealings in Afghanistan, where his efforts to assist rebels in their war with the Soviets have some unforeseen and long-reaching effects.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Hanks is set to play the main role. Julia Roberts, Amy Adams, P.J. Byrne are among the credited cast.<\/p>\n<p>The film is currently in pre-production. Mike Nichols is in talks for director. <\/p>\n<p>Shooting is expected to begin October 10, 2006.
