Also, the \u201cThe Originals\u201d alum Carina Adly MacKenzie recently spoke about her current writing project in an interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purefandom.com\/2017\/12\/19\/exclusive-the-originals-carina-mackenzie-talks-writing-tv-fandom-and-the-roswell-reboot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Purefandom.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In case you missed the first article read it here first: <a href=\"https:\/\/crashdown.com\/news\/2017\/10\/what-do-we-know-about-the-cws-new-alien-show\/\">What Do We Know About The CW\u2019s New Alien Show?<\/a> and let us know, if you discovered anything else we need to add.<\/p>\n<h2>Are original cast members on board?<\/h2>\n<p>Apart from Kevin Kelly Brown, who was on board of the original show, new people are working on the project &#8211; behind and in front of the camera. Anyway, Roswell fan Jarrod took the chance to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JarrodSHagenman\/status\/937501028529864704\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ask<\/a> MacKenzie, if there is a chance of original cast members coming on board and he got a quick reply: <em>\u201cMaybe, if they want to! But not as their original characters.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Liz? Max?<\/h2>\n<p>Everything is new, the story as well as the characters, but the main characters seem to have the same first names as in the original and the \u201cRoswell High\u201d books. Here is a script-tease posted on Carina Adly MacKenzie&#8217;s Instagram: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/BcvZj-aFhCR\/?taken-by=cadlymack\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MAX:<\/strong> Liz <strong>LIZ:<\/strong> <em>Max<\/em><\/a> In addition, she said in an interview with Purefandom.com, that \u201cRoswell High\u201d is her base. <em>\u201cI am basing my version on the book characters, not the show, so Liz is Liz Ortecho, not Liz Parker.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Ortecho or Sallinger?<\/h2>\n<p>While many articles featured the official short synopsis of the project, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/entertainment\/tv\/roswell-rebooted-cw-article-1.3559510\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Daily News<\/a> leads into the plot description by adding the name of the family:<\/p>\n<blockquote>[&#8230;] The reboot, however, will add a Trump-era twist: the Sallinger family will be first-generation Mexican immigrants.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, the daughter of undocumented immigrants discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He\u2019s an alien who [&#8230;]<\/blockquote>\n<p>But Sallinger might not be the name of Liz&#8217; family after all. As said above MacKenzie stated that in her version it&#8217;s Liz Ortecho.<\/p>\n<h2>LGBT characters<\/h2>\n<p>If The CW&#8217;s adds MacKenzie&#8217;s \u201cre-imagination\u201d to their TV schedule, some characters happen to be lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans.
