Hollywood Reporter\/Reuters reports that Shiri Appleby, Kristoffer Polaha and Kerr Smith are going to star in the CW’s pilot “Light Years” which centers on foster kid Lux, played by Brittany Robertson. <\/p>\n

The Liz Tigelaar-penned dramedy centers on foster kid Lux (Brittany Robertson) who, on her 16th birthday, tracks down her slacker biological father, bar owner Nick “Baze” Basile (Polaha), and her mother, morning radio host Cate Campbell (Appleby), who haven’t spoken since high school when their one-night stand resulted in pregnancy.<\/p>\n

Smith plays Ryan, Campbell’s boyfriend and co-host on the show.<\/p>\n[…] Like its predecessor the WB, the CW tends to go unrealistically young in the motherly department.
