Music plays an important role on television. Original \u201cRoswell\u201d fans can tell a tale. With more and more episode titles of The CW’s re-imagining of \u201cRoswell High\u201d being revealed, it shows that music affected all episode names.<\/p>\n
While the pilot episode has no real name exept ‘The Pilot’, the second episode is named after the third studio album of the alternative rock band Everclear and their song with the same name: \u201cSo Much for the Afterglow\u201d<\/strong>. The band got a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental. Showrunner Carina Adly MacKenzie penned this episode along with writer and good friend Eva McKenna.<\/p>\n Episode three of The CW\u2019s \u201cRoswell, NM\u201d is entitled \u201cTearin\u2019 Up My Heart\u201d<\/strong>. Rick Montano and Vincent Ingrao wrote this episode, which seemed to be named after *NSYNC\u2019s second single from their debut album. The single was released on February 10th in 1997.<\/p>\n \u201cWhere Have All The Cowboys Gone?\u201d<\/strong> is a song from the late 1990’s by Paula Cole. The fourth episode is named after this tune and was written by Chris Hollier and Sabir Pirzada.<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t Speak\u201d<\/strong> … I know just what you’re saying, so please stop explaining. Don’t tell me ’cause it hurts…<\/em>. \u201cRoswell, NM\u201d writers Adam Lush and Cori Uchida wrote episode five, which might contain a heartsickness of a certain character. The ballad by the American band No Doubt was written by lead singer Gwen Stefani about a break-up. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay for sixteen weeks.<\/p>\n The writer team who previously wrote the second episode, Eva McKenna and Carina Adly MacKenzie, wrote this next episode and choose the name \u201cSmells Like Teen Spirit\u201d<\/strong> for it. \u201cSmells Like Teen Spirit\u201d is a song by American rock band Nirvana and it is the title of episode six.<\/p>\n It’s a great idea to have a connection to music in each episode. Will there be a reference to the band, the lyric or to the story in the song? Maybe all of those songs will play in Crashdown\u2019s jukebox? We have to wait and see. Listen to the songs below.<\/p>\n In a Twitter Q&A<\/a> the showrunner revealed that we are going to hear many 90’s songs in scenes playing at the Crashdown Caf\u00e9. \u201cThe jukebox in the diner hasn\u2019t been updated since 1999, so there\u2019s only 90s music in the diner. Edwin McCain is in the pilot :)\u201c<\/em> said Carina Adly MacKenzie<\/p>\n Crashdown\u2019s jukebox is filled with some great 90’s\u00a0 music.
