\u201cThe Flare is based on fictional author TJ Whitford\u2019s sci-fi book series, The Moon is the Sun at Night, which has been a favorite of Savage\u2019s since childhood. The book revolves around a solar event and its effects on Earth \u2013 specifically, the small, blue-collar town of Milford, IL \u2013 and slowly unfolds into a post-apocalyptic battle for human survival.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“The Flare” is a fictional show. \u201cWhat Just Happened??! With Fred Savage\u201d is an after show for this sci-fi thriller show. The spoof after-show explores the \u201cfandom\u201d surrounding the fake series, set visits to \u201cThe Flare\u201d, interviews with the \u2018cast\u2019 and more.<\/p>\n
