\"\"\u201cIn other news… Disney asked me to direct a feature. I said yes 💍\u201d, Shiri Appleby posted<\/a> on Instagram on April 17, adding an engagement ring along with the Female Filmmaker Friday hashtag.<\/p>\n

The movie for Disney+ is entitled \u201cWouldn’t It Be Nice\u201d and centers around teenage friends who wake up 20 years later to find out they are married and living a life neither of them expected. Andrew Gunn is producing the feature with a script by Emma Fletcher.<\/p>\n

The actress received a lot of virtual applause in the comments:<\/p>\n

\u201cHell yeah you did! Say hi to the mouse for me. Congratulations\u201d, replied Brendan Fehr to the announcement and their newly-on-Instagram \u201cRoswell\u201d colleague Jason Behr added, \u201cWay to go Shir! Well deserved ❤️\u201d<\/p>\n

Katherine Heigl added some clapping hands and hearts to Shiri writing, \u201cCongrats lady! 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️\u201d. Katie’s on-screen \u201cRoswell\u201d TV husband Adam Rodriguez joined the celebration as well and sent some virtual applause. \u201c👏👏👏👏\u201d.<\/p>\n

Shiri recently directed episodes of ABC\u2018s \u201dMixed-ish\u201c and The CW’s \u201cRoswell, New Mexico\u201d and she’s ready to do more.<\/p>\n

The showrunner of the re-imagining left a comment and a question which Shiri answered quickly: Carina Adly MacKenzie told Shiri \u201cI am SO excited for you!!!\u201d and asked innocently and in parentheses: \u201c(But also does this mean you\u2019re too big time for us?!?)\u201d In her answer Shiri made clear, \u201cNever! Say when and I\u2019m there! In front of and behind the camera CM xo\u201d. Jeanine Mason, Heather Hemmens and Michael Vlamis from the cast congratulated Shiri too.<\/p>\n

Larisa Oleynik who starred with Shiri in the movie \u201cA Time for Dancing\u201d in 2002, sent her some \u201cMajor congrats\u201d with a big diamond emoji. Shiri’s good friend Robin Tunney happily added \u201cNobody deserves it more!!!\u201d. Kristoffer Polaha who had a guest role on the third season of \u201cRoswell\u201d and played alongside Shiri in \u201cLife Unexpected\u201d simply said, \u201cYou are a stud. Period.\u201d \u201cMAZEL TOV!!! Yay- so happy for you! 👏🤓\u201d, added her co-star Austin Basis from the cancelled-way-to-soon The CW show.<\/p>\n
