We found a bunch of mail that was misdelivered this weekend, and this was in there. Joan sent this in a few weeks ago. Better late than never???<\/p>\n
\nCOLIN HANK\ufffdS INTERVIEW WITH CONAN O\ufffdBRIEN

CONAN: My next guest currently stars on The WB television series Roswell and, starting today, you can see him in the brand new movie Whatever it Takes. Please welcome Colin Hanks.<\/p>\n
COLIN: (Comes out, waves to the audience, shakes hands with Andy and Conan; music is too loud to hear what he\ufffds saying but it looks like \ufffdPleasure to meet you.\ufffd He turns, waves to the audience again and sits.) These are comfy.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Thanks for being here.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Oh, it\ufffds my pleasure to sit in such a comfy chair.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Isn\ufffdt it nice.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Very nice.<\/p>\n
ANDY: There might be monkey pee.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Well, that\ufffds all right. That\ufffds all right.<\/p>\n
CONAN: There\ufffds monkey pee everywhere.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Oh, that\ufffds OK.<\/p>\n
CONAN: That monkey had a lot of coffee, on it\ufffds way here\ufffdNow, you know, it\ufffds funny, we, I guess, met in Los Angeles\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CONAN: This is the first time I saw you, we were doing a week of shows\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: A week of shows out there.<\/p>\n
CONAN: In Los Angeles, and you were nice enough to come see one.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Well, I\ufffdm just such a huge fan of this show. I mean, this show is the best on TV as far as I\ufffdm concerned (big cheer from audience) and I was just such a huge fan.<\/p>\n
CONAN: You know what I like? You said that just the way I trained you to say it.<\/p>\n
COLIN: That\ufffds right, I\ufffdm well trained. But, yeah, but I was really nervous, so I was just hoping I wasn\ufffdt making too big a fool of myself. Because I met you at that party, at that one hotel\ufffd<\/p>\n
CONAN: Right.<\/p>\n
COLIN: a couple of nights, and then went to that taping a few nights later\ufffd<\/p>\n
CONAN: Right.<\/p>\n
COLIN: and I was just really nervous. So nervous that I had like a nightmare after the first time I met you. I had this strange nightmare\ufffd<\/p>\n
CONAN: Is this true? Are you serious?<\/p>\n
COLIN: I\ufffdm being totally serious. I had this nightmare that I was holding you hostage and trying to get you to do all the bits on the show. I was like \ufffdCome on man, do\ufffddo the President, do the President\ufffd and your like \ufffdNo man, I talk to the President.\ufffd \ufffdWell, I don\ufffdt care, just do it man, come on man, I mean your Conan, do it.\ufffd And I was\ufffdfor hours and, and I was like \ufffdWhere\ufffds Andy?\ufffd \ufffdWell, Andy\ufffds not\ufffd\ufffd \ufffdWell get Andy in here, come on man, let\ufffds go.\ufffd and I was\ufffdand the next time I\ufffd<\/p>\n
CONAN: This is just a dream you had\ufffdyou don\ufffdt\ufffd?<\/p>\n
COLIN: Just a dream.<\/p>\n
CONAN: You don\ufffdt act on your dreams?<\/p>\n
COLIN: But, I was just so afraid that I made such a fool of myself, blabbering, and then when I saw you after the taping, it was all I could think about. All I was thinking about\ufffd\ufffdOK, just be polite, don\ufffdt blabber too much, be polite and then just leave, be nice because you have a lot of people to talk to.\ufffd And all I was just thinking was \ufffdGod, I was holding this guy hostage for like two hours in my dream.\ufffd It was ahh\ufffdoh it was\ufffd<\/p>\n
CONAN: That\ufffds so weird because we\ufffdre not\ufffdI don\ufffdt think either one of us is used to people like getting nervous around\ufffdyou know what I mean? We\ufffdre sort of on the\ufffdwe\ufffdre at the 12:30 spot, you know what I mean? That\ufffds the nice, the fringe, the crusty fringe of show business.<\/p>\n
COLIN: You guys are gold in my book, man.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Well. that\ufffds very nice of you. Now, you work on this show with a lot of young actors\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Lot of good looking people on this show\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CONAN: and you shoot scenes outside, apparently a good portion of the show.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Are there girls, this is the part I want to know about, are there girls that just hang around, try to meet you?<\/p>\n
COLIN: Well, we shoot all our exterior stuff for Roswell, down in a city called West Covina, that\ufffds sort of out by LA, and whenever we\ufffdre out there it\ufffds sort of like a big thing. And God bless all the fans, cuz they all sort of ditch school and come out and hang out and watch us work. But\ufffd<\/p>\n
CONAN: (laughs) So do that kids, remember\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah, please, please do.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Leave school and watch a television taping.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Exactly. But, unfortunately, because I\ufffdm sort of like the geek on the show, I don\ufffdt get the girls on the show, I really don\ufffdt get the girl fans either (audience \ufffdawws\ufffd and Colin says to audience \ufffdOh, God bless you.\ufffd) They always go for Jason or Brendan so I\ufffdm always\ufffd you know, there are people who are always asking me to sign pictures and they\ufffdre never of me. And I mean, they\ufffdre never of me.<\/p>\n
CONAN Like, here\ufffds a picture of Ernest Borgnine, could you sign it?<\/p>\n
COLIN: Exactly, any picture, they just want me to sign something. And it\ufffds really funny, because there was one day where I was walking back to my trailer and I\ufffdm walking down the street and I see this girl on the other side of the street and she sees me and she\ufffds running across the street, she\ufffds holding this magazine, and I know that it\ufffds not a picture of me. And she come up to me, she looks at me, she looks down at the picture, which was, of course, of Jason, and says \ufffdHey, I watch the show a lot, keep up the good work.\ufffd and then ran across the street again.<\/p>\n
CONAN: No signing?<\/p>\n
COLIN: No love.<\/p>\n
CONAN: You should have grabbed it and signed it really quickly\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: I know, I should have.<\/p>\n
CONAN: all over Jason\ufffds face.<\/p>\n
COLIN: But she just ran, she just made a B-line straight to the other side of the street, so there was nothing I could do.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Now, on the show Roswell, you have a lot of friends that are girls\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CONAN: your character\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CONAN: and in the movie that you\ufffdve just done, you have a lot of friends that are girls, is that something that\ufffds true in real life? Do you have a lot of\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah.<\/p>\n
CONAN: sort of girl friends, not girlfriends but\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah, very much so. I think that\ufffds the one thing that really is, sort of, that\ufffds a lot of me whenever I do stuff. You know, it\ufffds cool because, you know, I have all these friends that are girls so I have all the bonuses of getting all the dirty secrets that they tell. They are always asking me like all this information, like, you know, \ufffdShould I do this, should I do that?\ufffd \ufffdYeah, yeah, do it!\ufffd So I got all this\ufffdI have this\ufffd<\/p>\n
CONAN: (laughs) What are you telling them to go do, Colin?<\/p>\n
COLIN: Well, it depends on the situation.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Sure, \ufffdYeah, yeah, they\ufffdll never miss the money, go ahead.\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: So basically\ufffd.so I have all the benefits of having relationships with girls except I\ufffdm not gay. So that\ufffds the only thing, you know because\ufffd<\/p>\n
CONAN: So, you mean, what you\ufffdre saying is that it\ufffds just sort of a neutral relationship.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Yeah, I have, you know, because everyone\ufffdGay guys are the best friends for girls cuz they will go and pick out shoes and dresses and what not, so they get all the time with the girls, really.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Right, right.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Well, I do too, I\ufffdm just , you know, I\ufffdm just not gay. Not that there\ufffds anything wrong with that.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Yeah, you\ufffdve said that twice now. \ufffdI\ufffdm telling you, I\ufffdm not gay!\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: I\ufffdm not, I\ufffdm not, I\ufffdm not.<\/p>\n
CONAN: You know, that\ufffds funny in a weird way when women are almost too comfortable around you, to tell you stuff. I\ufffdve had that experience where women are just too comfortable around you\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Oh, way too comfortable.<\/p>\n
CONAN: And you\ufffdre like \ufffdWell, wait a minute, I am a sexual threat!\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: Exactly.<\/p>\n
CONAN: (grunts like a man then in a somewhat falsetto voice) \ufffdOh, not you, you\ufffdre goofy.\ufffd<\/p>\n
COLIN: I\ufffdm the cutesie one, the baby face.<\/p>\n
CONAN: Trust me, I know what you\ufffdre talking about. Well, Roswell is on The WB Wednesday\ufffds at nine but it\ufffds moving to Monday\ufffds at nine on April 10th.<\/p>\n
COLIN: April 10th.<\/p>\n
CONAN: And Whatever it Takes is in theaters now. Colin, really cool having you here.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Thank you so much. (shakes Conan\ufffds hand)<\/p>\n
CONAN: You\ufffdre a good man, thanks for joining us. Good luck on your show too. Colin Hanks everybody. We\ufffdll take a break; Keely Smith is coming up.<\/p>\n
COLIN: Shakes hands with Andy and waves to the audience.<\/p>\n
CONAN: (After Keely performs and comes to speak to Conan she asks if she can touch his hair.) Seriously?<\/p>\n
KEELY: May I touch your hair?<\/p>\n
CONAN: This is creeping me out almost as much as Colin Hanks (points to Colin).<\/p>\n
