The film stars Terrence Terrell, Jayne Taini, Sachin Bhatt, Mario Cantone and William Sadler, with America Young directing from a screenplay by Nick Wauters.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2026\/08\/terrence-terrell-sachin-bhatt-the-summer-they-came-film-1237047319\/\" target=\"_blank\">Deadline<\/a><\/em> \u201cThe Summer They Came\u201d is based on William Storandt\u2019s novel of the same name and centers on a struggling Rhhode Island seaside town that unexpectedly becomes popular summer destination for LGBTQ+ visitors. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The synopsis reads: \u201cWhen a struggling Rhode Island seaside town unexpectedly becomes the summer\u2019s newest LGBTQ+ destination, the arrival of thousands of visitors sets off a season of humor, heartbreak, romance and profound personal change that forever transforms the lives of its residents\u2014and the future of the town itself.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The movie is now in post-production.
