The War: A Poem.<\/p>\n
Once \u2018pon a time, such a short while ago
\nIn a small town called Roswell, in New Mexico
\nThere lived three, among the residents there,
\nWho came from another place, no one knew where.
\nSome said from \u201cup north\u201d, but no one was sure
\nIf that meant Wyoming, with skies so azure,
\nOr some mentioned Canada, (in a way very crude,
\nThey called them \u201cCanucks\u201d — now wasn\u2019t that rude?!)
\nBut what the Roswellians couldn\u2019t have known,
\nWas the three were from someplace that ET might phone!
\nThey all looked like humans \u2018round the age of sixteen,
\nAnd while they had powers, their skin wasn\u2019t green;
\nIsabel, Michael and Max they were called,
\nAll of them beauties, not one of them bald!
\nNow Max loved since third grade a sweet girl named Liz,
\n(And if that\u2019s not true love, well then who knows what is!)
\nShe worked in the Crashdown, a UFO diner,
\nAnd Max was convinced no one could be finer!
\nSo day after day, he\u2019d come in and he\u2019d stare
\nAs Liz would wait tables, but he\u2019d never dare
\nTo speak to her \u2013 no, he was way too shy.
\nBesides, he wasn\u2019t some regular guy.
\nHe knew he and Liz were not meant to be,
\nSince she was a human, and he was\u2026ET!
\nBut then one day Liz accidentally got shot!
\nMax had to save her \u2013 he covered the spot
\nWith his hand, and amazingly, healed the big wound,
\n\u201cYou\u2019re all right now,\u201d he so tenderly crooned.
\nThen off he did speed in his trusty old jeep
\nLeaving Liz with a really big secret to keep!
\nNow Liz is IN LOVE, and she tries to convince
\nMax to let go, be her sweet alien prince.
\nYet Max always tells her, no ifs, ands or buts
\nThey\u2019re not meant to be. (What the heck? Is he nuts??)
\nNow Maria, who\u2019s fair Liz\u2019s wacky dear friend
\nLikes Alien Michael, whose hair stands on end.
\nHe kidnapped her once on 285 South
\nAnd found that she had a sarcastic big mouth
\nAnd though he would angrily tell her to quit it
\nHe secretly liked it, though never admit it!
\nHe\u2019d say he needed her help at a stake out,
\nBut most of the time he just wanted to make out.
\nNow just like his friend, he is turning away.
\nMaria is \u201cTeflon\u201d \u2013 at least that\u2019s what she\u2019d say\u2026
\nShe pretends she\u2019s immune to the spiky-haired dude,
\nWhose luck is as bad as his poor attitude.
\nAnd then there\u2019s the sister of Max, Isabel,
\nWho used to be only concerned with her swell
\nFace and figure, till dreamwalking made her discover:
\nIt seemed goofy Alex did secretly love her.
\nSo now Alex knows, and they all are in danger
\nSome FBI guys, and what\u2019s even stranger,
\nTopolsky the teacher\/counselor lady
\n(Who\u2019s FBI also \u2013 now isn\u2019t she shady?)
\nAnd Sheriff Valenti are all after our guys
\nThey hide behind buildings; he watches and spies.
\nYou know that one day they all hope they will see
\nOur three heroes on \u201cAlien Autopsy\u201d.<\/p>\nSo this is \u201cRoswell,\u201d yes, we love it quite madly.
\nAnd we need our next fix, and we need it real badly.
\nAs week after week, we feed our addiction,
\nWe can\u2019t seem to separate true fact from fiction.
\nWe LOVE Max, his soulful brown eyes make us pant,
\nWe\u2019re carried away — can we stop? We just can\u2019t!
\nAnd Michael\u2019s fine lips are for sure like no others\u2019!
\nWe\u2019d be his Maria, if we had our druthers!
\nSo here is the story of the Roswell fan boards
\nAnd though you may think that we\u2019re out of our gourds
\nThere\u2019s a war going on, between two separate factions
\nProclaiming their own (some would say weird) attractions
\nOver who is the better? Is it Brendan or Jason?
\n(But some say it\u2019s neither \u2013 it\u2019s Bill Sadler they\u2019re chasin\u2019!)
\nThe Jason admirers call themselves Dreamgirls
\n(But sometimes a better name might be \u201cExtremegirls\u201d) \u2013
\nThey drool over Jason\u2019s deep eyes and strong arms,
\nThese are, they attest, only part of his charms!
\nNow Brendan has fans, just as many, I\u2019d say
\nWho lust just as much, in their own special way,
\nFor his cheekbones so sharp, just as sharp as his wit,
\nYes, for them their Fehr-haired guy is the one, he is IT!
\nSo who will succeed in this war of the words?
\nWill it be the Dreamgirls, or the Fehrian birds?
\nWell, here is the answer, if you all want to know,
\nIt\u2019s neither, you sillies, (I still love ya, though!)
\nThe winners are those who, when push comes to shove,
\nCan like both the guys \u2013 hey, there\u2019s TWO times the love!
\nAnd that means the answer (if anyone cares)
