Last Night’s Ratings
Have I mentioned that reruns suck? Oh yes, I have. Roswell fans can take comfort in the fact that they managed to hold on to almost all of Dawson’s Creek’s viewers, but both shows suffer from the fact that there weren’t all that many of ’em to begin with!

NBC Wins Wednesday With Politics And Lawyers

NBC placed first in the overnight metered ratings(Wednesday March 15) thanks to a little bit of drama from the White House and a little bit more from the courthouse. Both “West Wing” and “Law & Order” helped the peacock to a 10.7 rating/17 share (last week, 10.4/16). ABC placed second with an 8.2/13 (7.9/12) fueled by “The Drew Carey Show.” CBS took third with an 8.0/12 (7.8/12) aided by “City of Angels.” FOX grabbed fourth place with a 4.9/8 (5.3/8), getting some help from “Beverly Hills, 90210.” UPN took fifth with a 4.2/6 (3.6/5) and the WB landed in sixth with a 3.1/5 (3.1/5).
NBC started off the night with “Dateline,” nabbing a solid 9.5/15 (9.9/16). At 9 p.m., a previously aired “West Wing,” starring Rob Lowe grabbed a 10.0/15 (9.2/14). Following the political drama was the top performer of the night–an encore “Law & Order”–which made a case for itself with a 12.7/21 (12.0/20) at 10 p.m.
ABC led off the night with an encore “Two Guys and a Girl,” taking a 6.9/11 (8.0/13). “Norm” followed at 8:30 with a 6.9/11 (6.8/11). A previously aired episode of “The Drew Carey Show” followed scoring a 9.4/14 (9.1/14). At 9:30, the political comedy “Spin City” walked away with an 8.3/13 (8.3/12). Rounding out the evening, “20/20” garnered a 9.0/15 (7.8/13).
CBS started with the inner city hospital drama, “City of Angels,” which grabbed a 6.8/11 (5.9/9) at 8 p.m. It was followed by the CBS Wednesday movie, “Vegas Vacation,” starring Chevy Chase. The comedy averaged a 6.2/10 between 8-10 p.m., peaking at 9:30 with a 6.8/10 (last week, “First Wives Club,” 9.0/14).
FOX started the night with a new “Beverly Hills, 90210,” nabbing a 5.9/9 (6.2/10) at 8 p.m. It was followed by “Get Real,” which dropped slightly to a 4.0/6 (4.4/7).
UPN filled the primetime hours with a repeat of “7 Days,” pulling in a 3.3/5 (3.3/5). “Star Trek Voyager” followed at 9 p.m., capturing a 5.1/8 (4.3/7).
The WB began the night with an encore “Dawson’s Creek,” taking a 3.1/5 (3.2/5) at 8 p.m. It was followed by a previously aired “Roswell,” which managed a 3.1/5 (3.1/5).
