Eye Spy- with the help of three rising stars, we set our sights on Fall’s hottest looks. Rachael Lampa-Christian-pop Princess, Amil-Beauty with a Beat and Dido-Funky Folkster with soulful edge.
Here’s what they say about Dido:
Britain’s latest export is more than just a pretty face. Dido’s debut release, No Angel, is lighting up the airwaves (thanks to her sizzling single and Roswell theme song “Here with Me”); she’s also wrapped up a major solo U.S. tour – and secured prime placement on Eminem’s album The Marshall Mathers LP (that’s her on the track “Stan”). Now that all eyes are on Dido, she’s ready for a fresh new look.
TREND- On tour, the 28 year old saw the world through heavy eye makeup. “I tend to go with darker eyes and that whole ’70s thing,” she says. Celeb makeup srtist Jay Manuel opened her eyes to how a splash of cranberry color can accentuate her favorite dark liner. To get this look, see Dido’s beauy cue card on page 149. Roswellmd77
The Look 1. For Dido, it’s all about color and liner. Begin by rimming the eyes in black on the top and the bottom using short strokes for control.
2. Instead of powder eye shadow, select a matte color stick ( try a blush stick for fun ). Using your finger, smudge it across the top of the eyelid, just under the brow bone and under the lower lash line. Rerim your eyes in black liner on the inside of the lids only.
3. Finish with layers of mascara. For the smoothest application, always wipe the wand with tissue to remove excess mascara before applying. Twirl the wand in the tube; don’t pump. Begin at the base of the lashes and sweep the brush out to the ends.
