Director: Jonathan Frakes
Production Code: 3ADA04

First aired: October 30, 2001

Description

When Max learns that there might still be a shapeshifter living on Earth, he heads to Los Angeles to track it down, hoping to find some assistance in his efforts to contact his son. His quest leads him to Paramount Studios, where he auditions for a role as an alien on the TV series “Enterprise”. Although he doesn’t get the part, he does manage to identify the sole surviving shapeshifter — an extraordinarily successful movie producer named Kal Langley. However, Kal has no intention of jeapordizing his hard-built “human” existence by helping Max find his son.

Meanwhile, Isabel balks at Jesse’s suggestion that it is time to inform her parents of their engagement, and Kyle learns more about the strained relationship between his father and grandfather.

Guest starring are Joe Pantoliano as Kal Langley, John Billingsley as himself, Stephen Tobolowsky as Jules Walters, Mary Ellen Trainor as Diane Evans and Garrett M. Brown as Philip Evans.

The episode was written by Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner and directed by “Roswell” executive producer Jonathan Frakes, who also guest stars as himself portraying the director of “Enterprise.”
