8.1 MILLION PEOPLE TUNE IN TO “7TH HEAVEN” FAMILY DRAMA KEEPS ON GROWING, SHOWING WEEK-TO-WEEK GAINS ACROSS-THE-BOARD “ROSWELL” HAS YET ANOTHER STRONG WEEK

BURBANK, CA (October 24, 2000) – The WB’s Monday line-up continues its torrid start as the network’s highest-rated show, 7TH HEAVEN continues to top itself and stiff competition including a premiere night on Fox.

7TH HEAVEN, attracted 8.1 million viewers on Monday (its most since January), setting season highs in adults 18-34 (3.2/9), women 18-34 (4.4/13), men 18-34 (2.0/6, a +43% gain), persons 12-34 (3.9/12), men 12-34 (2.7/8), adults 18-49 (3.1/8), women 18-49 (4.0/10), men 18-49 (2.1/6), male teens (4.4/14), households (5.2/8) and total viewers. The family drama tied last week’s output in women 12-34 (5.0/15), which was good enough to rank it 13th among all shows..

7TH HEAVEN was the highest-rated show of the night in female teens (6.9/22) and teens (5.6/17) and placed second in its time period in persons 12-34 (3.9/12) and women 12-34 (5.0/15) as well as third in adults 18-34 (3.2/9), women 18-34 (4.4/13) and males 12-34 (2.7/8). Its 8.1 million viewers, topped everything on NBC from 8-to-10 p.m. The show delivered its best numbers since March ’99 in adults 18-34 and men 18-49, notched the highest since May ’99 in women 18-34 and adults 18-49 and earned its highest ratings since January in households, persons 12-34, women 12-34 and women 18-49. ROSWELL, which topped NBC’s Deadline across the 12-34 demos and in adults and women 18-34, continues to grow its audience, scoring the time period’s best number in adults 18-34 (2.4/6) since December 1998. It was also ROSWELL’S best outing in that key demo since its second episode, which aired in October 1999. ROSWELL achieved season highs and registered week-to-week growth in households (3.4/5), adults 18-34 (2.4/6), men 18-34 (1.5/4), men 18-49 (1.6/4) and male teens (3.0/7). The program equaled its season high and last week’s rating in persons 12-34 (2.7/7), scoring the highest in the time period since December ’98.

ROSWELL scored the best in the time slot since March ’99 in men 18-34 and men 18-49. The show ranked #1 in its time slot among female teens (4.5/15) and teens 12-17 (3.7/11) and finished #2 for the hour among male teens (3.0/7) behind Monday Night Football. ROSWELL posted triple-digit percentage gains across every 12-34, 18-34 and 18-49 demographic versus the parallel week a year ago. The show more than doubled Safe Harbor’s delivery a year ago (10/25/99) in adults 18-34 (up +167%), women 18-34 (up +146%), men 18-34 (up +200%), adults 18-49 (up +110%), women 18-49 (up +108%) and men 18-49 (up +129%).

7TH HEAVEN and ROSWELL combined for season high deliveries in households (4.3/6), adults 18-34 (2.8/8), women 18-34 (3.8/10), men 18-34 (1.8/5), persons 12-34 (3.3/9), men 12-34 (2.3/6), adults 18-49 (2.6/6), men 18-49 (1.8/5) and male teens (3.7/10). The WB ranked #1 for the night among female teens (5.7/18) and teens 12-17 (4.7/14), ranked #2 among females 12-34 (4.3/12) and was #3 among male teens (3.7/10). The network achieved dramatic gains over the comparable week a year ago, building +43% in rating among persons 12-34, gaining +87% in rating among adults 18-34 and improving +53% in rating among adults 18-49.
