INSIDE UPN’S FALL SCHEDULE — In an odd twist of fate UPN seems to be the only network going into the fall season that is virtually guaranteed a gain over last season’s ratings. The acquisition of series “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Roswell” from the WB and the start of another “Star Trek” series ensure this. After all, “Buffy” will close the season right on the heels of “Star Trek: Voyager” in the ratings (“Voyager’s” big finale was the only thing keeping “Buffy” from surpassing it) and that was UPN’s second highest rated series.
