Roswell movie campaign kicks off 30-day blitz

October 1-November 1, 2004

Most Roswell fans are aware of an ongoing campaign for a movie since the series’ cancellation in 2002. But what some fans may not know is that Roswellmovie.net is organizing its most ambitious and concentrated campaign effort to date: a 30-day blitz starting on October 1.

If we want a movie, we’re going to have to make NOISE and lots of it! The movie staff urges ALL Roswell fans from around the world to mail an entire month’s worth of postcards, thank you cards and even merchandise to show your support for the campaign. For mailing addresses, customized Roswell thank you cards and movie tickets, please visit www.roswellmovie.net. Merchandise can be purchased at http://www.cafepress.com/roswellmovieii. Fans are also invited to use their own creative ideas. E-mail is discouraged because sending e-mail is easy but something tangible takes more effort and is more memorable. Whatever fans decide to mail, it is critical to send something every day during the month’s campaign to help create a steady (and heavy!) flow of mail supporting a Roswell movie.

The key message is letting those in charge—Fox, the Roswell creators—know that our passion and dedication to the show are still very much alive. We need to get their attention! They already know that a fan- driven push for a movie is in place, but it is up to us, the fans, to show them how much we want the story to continue and how much we are willing to work to get it. For that reason, it is imperative that they receive constant, massive feedback from a diverse group of fans. RM.net is working on banners for international Roswell sites and encourages fans from all different countries to participate in the blitz. We need to show that fans’ love for Roswell is universal and far-reaching.

The Roswell movie campaign staff has been in contact with FOX and show creators on a continual basis. RM.net has every reason to believe that this blitz campaign could have very have successful results. For something that we’ve loved for five years, 30-days worth of campaigning is a small price to pay.

The 30-day campaign blitz will run from October 1 to November 1, 2004. For more information regarding the movie campaign efforts, please contact Jodi Moore or visit www.roswellmovie.net .
