“The Night Shift” Is Back on February 23rd, 2015

The second season of NBC’s “The Night Shift” will premiere on February 23rd, 2015. “Scrub in on Feb. 23 when The Night Shift returns for Season 2!” NBC announced the premiere date on December 13th, 2014. The medical drama centers on Army doctors working the late shift at San Antonio’s best trauma center and stars Brendan Fehr plays Dr. Drew Alister and stars alongside Eoin Macken, Jill Flint and Freddy Rodriguez.

On February 23 at 10 PM “The Night Shift” will take the slot of Katherine Heigl’s new show “State of Affairs”, which will have finished its first season by then.

Eriq La Salle directed the first episode of the second season. The actor, director, writer and producer best known for portraying Dr. Peter Benton on the NBC drama series “Emergency Room”, directed two episodes in the show’s first season, as well.

The production of the second season started on November 10th, 2014 in Albuquerque and just like last year it’s fun to follow the cast and crew on Twitter. Please make sure to add them now, if you haven’t done so already. In case you didn’t know, there is a Roswell reunion on set: Adam Rodriguez joined “The Night Shift” for a minimum of five episodes in the second season. He will play Dr. Joey Chavez, the newly hired night call trauma surgeon at San Antonio Memorial Hospital. He is an Air Force vet that served in Iraq whose personal experiences have led him to investigate his cases with an Eastern medicine perspective.
