Thanks to Kathryn C for sending this in!
The following was found in the issue of TVtimes for the week of July 7 to July 14, 2000. The article was entitled: The Ones That Got Away:Hold On! Not all summer reruns have to be nose-pinching exercises.
Excerpt from Article:
There is no doubt about it. Summer is rerun season. Always has been, always will be. However, that doesn’t mean you should spend all of your evenings outdoors with all the mosquitoes and humidity and rabid bats. Just think, you can stay cool inside and watch stuff that you didn’t see during the regular TV season.
So put that old Frisbee away, stick that sunscreen back into your medicine cabinet and enjoy your summer in front of the tube – where you belong.
Or, at the very least, take a portable TV with you. After all, you can always throw it at those rabid bats.
Here are some recommendation for playing catch-up this summer:
Roswell (Mondays; The WB):
We’ll call this Beyond Lawyers In Miniskirts. Sure, you could catch up on those Ally Mcbeal
episodes you missed. But once you knew Billy buys the farm, why bother? Better to check out the drama on Roswell, which you almost certainly didn’t watch during the season. It’s about teen aliens, yes, but it is also a well-acted, entertaining hybrid of high-school angst and X-Files dread.
The article goes on to mention other shows such as Dharma & Greg, Will & Grace, South Park, Frasier, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Nash Bridges, Beggars and Choosers, V.I.P., and King of the Hill. Not all of the shows were chosen as reruns to watch for as favorable reasons as Roswell. Plus, in this Canadian televisions it’s ironic to mention Roswell, because
with CTV now deciding to show Popular instead of Roswell, we have absolutely no way of seeing the show, short of buying a sattelite dish.
