NIGHT OF GROWTH AT THE WBBoth Shows Up In Every Demo; “Roswell” Scores
Triple-Digit Gains In All 18-34 CategoriesBURBANK, CA (October 31, 2000) The growth story at The WB picked up even more steam on Monday as the night and both series 7TH HEAVEN & ROSWELL achieved year-to-year gains in every demo, particularly in the 18-34 groups.
7TH HEAVEN, which won its time period in women 12-34 (4.7/13) for the fourth consecutive week and was second in persons 12-34 (3.7/11), scored a 3.0/8 in adults 18-34 (up +67% from the parallel week last year). The family drama also achieved a 3.9/11 in women 18-34 (+50%), a 2.0/6 in men 18-34, tying its season high (+82%), a 3.7/11 in persons 12-34 (+42%), 4.7/13 in women 12-34 (+27%), a 2.7/8 in men 12-34, equaling its season high (+69%), a 2.8/7 in adults 18-49 (+33%), a 3.5/9 in women 18-49 (+17%) and a 2.0/5 in men 18-49 (+54%). The show, which was #1 for the night in female teens (6.7/20) also showed growth in all teen demos, including a season high 4.5/13 in male teens (4.5/13).ROSWELL scored season highs in persons 12-34 (2.9/8) and tied its season high in women 12-34 (3.9/10). It showed phenomenal year-to-year growth in every demo, particularly in the 18-34 categories where it scores a 2.3/6 in adults (+109%), 3.2/8 in women (+100%) and a 1.4/4 in men (+133%). The series also popped year-to-year in persons 12-34 (2.9/8, +71%), women 12-34 (3.9/10, +70%), men 12-34 (1.8/5, +50%), adults 18-49 (2.0/5, +82%), women 18-49 (2.5/6, +67%) and men 18-49 (1.5/4, +114%). The sci-fi drama also showed growth across the teen demos, finishing second behind only 7TH HEAVEN for the night in female teens (6.0/20) and setting season marks in total teens (4.4/14) and male teens (3.0/9).
For the night, the growth was most impressive in the 18-34 demos adults (2.6/7, +73%), women (3.6/9, +71%) and men 2.0/6 (1.7/5, +113%).
The WB placed #2 among all networks for the night in women 12-34 (4.3/12) and #3 in persons 12-34 (3.3/9), #1 in female teens (6.3/20) and tied for tops in teens (5.0/15).
