This would probably be a pretty good episode no matter what, but it certainly doesn’t hurt that Maria reigns supreme throughout the whole damn thing. Look at her go! She takes charge with both Michael and Crazy Girl, she has a few harsh, touching tough love moments with mom, and she winningly proclaims herself a “greasy spoon aficionado,” greeting the mere thought of chili-cheese dogs with this immortal quote: “Ah…the food that time forgot!” Indeed it is.
