Battlestar Galactica’s Crashdown: Roswell connection?

This week’s edition of MediaBlvd Magazine has an interesting interview with the actor Sam Witwer, who played the character named Crashdown on Battlestar Galactica.

Sam is also close friends with Nick Wechsler, and he says that at one point the two wondered if Sam’s character on BSG was named after a website about Nick’s show. (That website being crashdown.com)

Ron Moore, who ran Roswell for the 2nd and 3rd season is also in charge of Battlestar Galactica, so there is some merit to the thought that there is a connection between Roswell and the name.

Though Sam never played on Roswell, he has been on numerous other series, and also has a band called the Crashtones. He also mentions in the interview how great it would have been if he could have named his band the Crashdown, but was worried about legal issues.
