Spielberg probably dropped the “Chicago 7” project

On January 14 we published an newsitem concerning the rumor that Colin joined the cast of “The Trial of the Chicago 7”.

While Will Smith told the brazilian press the following day that Spielberg also asked the actor to leave some time open, when the script is ready. Actor Will Smith said “I don’t know specifics, story, anything, but he told me the filming dates, so I can be free to do it. It’s not a 100% sure thing yet, but I’m confident.”

But now it is uncertain if this project will be even realized.

Collider.com added the article “Has Steven Spielberg Dropped Out of The Trial of the Chicago 7?” on February 22, 2008 talking about two sources that are confirming that Steve Spielberg has decided to move on and will not be making the movie.
