“Outlander” Marathon – December 25th

In case you didn’t know, Ronald D. Moore is behind the sucessful TV adaption of Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling Outlander series of fantasy novels “Outlander” for Starz. Moore joined “Roswell” in the second season as co-executive producer and staff writer. He wrote the opening episode “Ask Not” as well as the heartbreaking “Cry Your Name”. He also co-wrote the finale episode of Roswell with Jason Katims. With “Outlander” season one, he covers the entire first book of the much loved book series and a second season was ordered after just one episodes aired on Starz. “Outlander” was one of the most anticipated new show and the Starz CEO Chris Albrecht explained the early renewal: “The overwhelming support Outlander has received from the fans, viewers and critics made the decision for us to go ahead with the second book a very easy one.”

The show follows the story of Claire Randall, a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world where her life is threatened. When she is forced to marry Jamie, a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire’s heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
