Introducing Doubt

On Wednesday, August 10th, CBS showcased their slate of upcoming programs to the Television Critics Association during the Summer Press Tour held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

Katherine Heigl was joined by her Doubt co-stars Elliott Gould, Kobi Libii, Dreama Walker, Laverne Cox, Dulé Hill, and Steven Pasquale and executive producers Carl Beverly, Tony Phelan and Joan Rater at the event, to present the legal drama to the press through a series of panels and interviews.

Doubt is from former Grey’s Anatomy husband and wife executive producing team Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, and it follows Sadie Ellis (Katherine Heigl), a brilliant attorney who works for a prestigious boutique firm. But her life becomes much more complicated when she starts to fall for her charismatic client, Billy Brennan (Steven Pasquale), an altruistic pediatric surgeon recently accused of murdering his girlfriend 24 years ago.

“We’ve always been intrigued by the law,” Phelan said at the press conference. “In America right now, there seems to be a movement afoot, a new idealism.”
