Carina Adly MacKenzie Answered “Roswell” Questions
“I’m on an airplane. Anybody have questions?”, asked Carina Adly MacKenzie on March 31st when she headed back home from filming the “Untitled Roswell Project” pilot for The CW.
The pilot was shot in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. Over the past weeks the cast and crew shared beautful photos and clips of the landscape, but they also had to brave the elements like extreme wind, rain and snow. Naira wanted to know from the writer and excecutive producer, if they will be shooting in New Mexico for the whole season. If the re-imagining, which is based on the “Roswell High” books, will be ordered to series, they still have to make this decision. Carina Adly MacKenzie said “We haven’t decided! Have to weigh some options.”
“Roswell NM” is the working title of the project. If the sci-fi show will make it on our TV screens will be decided as early as next month. “We’ll know mid-May.”, MacKenzie replied to a fan. She also said: “I’m hoping Roswell is my next project. I have a deal with WB so if this doesn’t go, I’ll keep developing new stuff with them.”
MacKenzie answered Genevie’s Roswell question about Kyle, as well. Kyle Valenti was played by Nick Wechsler in the original show and is portrayed by Michael Trevino in The CW’s version. Kyle is a surgical resident, she replied. “His mom is the sheriff. He’s Mexican.” She also added about new-Kyle, “He’s got cheekbones that could cut glass.“
“I’m sure I saw you mention this before, but Alex in Roswell is Native, correct? Which tribe or nation?” asked Nick. “He’s half. His mom is native. That’s all I can say so far!” replied Carina Adly MacKenzie. Tyler Blackburn portrays Sgt. Alex Manes, who returns home from a stint in the Middle East.
She also answered questions about other projects. We listed the Roswell related and some random questions only. Please visit Carina Adly MacKenzie’s official Twitter page and scroll through her timeline for more.

Twitter Q&A – March 31st, 2018
Jennifer Lauren: What music (if any) do you listen to, to get inspired to write? Anything specific for Roswell?
Carina: I made a playlist. Lots of 90s songs, lots of alt-country.
Penny: Is filming your show everything you thought it would be?
Carina: It’s better. I never expected I’d get to work with family.
Naira: If #Roswell goes to series…. will you guys be shooting in New Mexico for the whole season?
Carina: We haven’t decided! Have to weigh some options.
Ray-Victoria: Whose your favorite Rowell character? Who so you think you identify with the most?
Carina: My favorite is Michael. 😍
Kristen: Favorite song atm?
Carina: “Space Cowboy” on repeat
Lauren: Are we getting those silver handprints and what was the most challenging part of the Roswell pilot?
Carina: There will be a handprint of some kind. The most challenging part so far was battling Santa Fe weather — but I think post production is going to be a lot harder than that.
Lauren: One more question…when was the best day about bringing all those great humans together to film? Any particular scene or day?
Carina: Yep. There was a particular day. :)
Nicole: What is your all time favorite show? 😊
Carina: Friday Night Lights
Divadi: What’s your next project? And when we’ll we know if Roswell gets picked up for the season?
Carina: I’m hoping Roswell is my next project. I have a deal with WB so if this doesn’t go, I’ll keep developing new stuff with them. We’ll know mid-May.
