Jeanine Mason made it on ”Variety’s TV Stars to Watch 2018” list

The CW’s Roswell, NM’s Jeanine Mason made it on Variety’s TV Stars to Watch 2018 list. She explains to Variety why she really wanted the role of Liz Ortecho:

[…] She says she wanted the part immediately after reading an early script where someone asks her character, “Why are you being so combative?”

“She says back, ‘I’m a Mexican-American woman in 2018, I engage in combat just by getting out of bed in the morning,’” Mason says. “And I went ‘F—, I need this job so bad right now.’ Everything about it just spoke to me in that one line.” […]

The writer of the pilot, Carina Adly MacKenzie, shared the article on Twitter. She wrote: “My little French fry @itsjeaninemason is going to make you laugh and cry and dance and swoon. 👽” The actress replied that she is going to to work very hard at these four things.

In an earlier post on the social media platform, Jeanine thanked Variety for including her. “What wonderful company. ❤”, she added.

Camilla Luddington, Jeanine’s former “Grey’s Anatomy” collegue told her, “I can’t wait to watch you!!!!!!! @itsjeaninemason 🙌”. It will take some time until the show will celebrate its premiere. The writing team is set to start this new journey on Monday, June 4th. Cast and crew will be back filming in Santa Fe, New Mexico starting this August.

Rumor has it that The CW scheduled the premiere of their new sci-fi show for April 29th. While the network’s reboot of “Charmed” made it to the fall schedule fans of The CW’s re-imagining have to wait a little longer.
