At first the article occupied with some online theories. (Attention! There’s a spoiler, if you haven’t seen the episode “Do No Harm”, yet!!) Never having been a mother herself, de Ravin consulted her sisters, who have children, about the experience of giving birth. The advice wound up being only of limited use. “I was talking to people,” she says, “and they were saying, ‘I don’t know how I’d recreate that unless it was actually happening,’ because it just takes over your body.
