Colin has been offered a role in Spielberg’s “Chicago 7” (Rumor)
Various sources report in reference of CHUD.com, that Colin Hanks has been offered the role of Rennie Davis in Steven Spielberg’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7”.
The movie is about the anti-Vietnam war protests that wrecked the 1968 Democratic national convention.
The character Davis is an SDS activist who was interested in political change rather than wholesale social change. Other potential stars on board: Philip Seymour Hoffman, Will Smith, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Daniels.

Hanks, meanwhile, would be Rennie Davis, an SDS activist who was interested in political change rather than wholesale social change. I love both these choices, and hope they get signed to the film; Dellinger and Davis are certainly not the stars of this ensemble, but I think that both these actors (especially Daniels) can be memorable in short bursts.
Empireonline.com says:
If these two have been offered roles, then it’s almost certain that they’ll end up in the final movie. Rare is the man who says no to Spielberg. We would love to see these two join a movie that is shaping up for a potentially brilliant cast. According to an earlier Vanity Fair story, is also on board and Will Smith and Kevin Spacey are potentials.
The production is scheduled for 2010.
Please note that this is currently just a rumor.
