There’s a fresh face among the regular cast members of the new season of hit crime series Bones. Viewers will see Vancouver-born star Brendan Fehr make his debut in the show next week as Jared – the brother of brooding main character Agent Seeley Booth.

Brendan, who rose to fame on sci-fi show Roswell before a stint on CSI: Miami, was a last minute find by the show’s creator – who had all but given up finding a suitable candidate in both the looks and ability departments.

Two days before they were to begin shooting, Brendan walked into an audition and blew everyone away. “He’s a very good actor,” says the man behind the series – Ontario-raised Hart Hanson. “He just knocked it out of the park. We needed somebody that we thought Booth would care about deeply, who had both a dark side and who bore at least some physical resemblance to him.”

Bones fans can expect to see some on screen tension between Brendan’s character and his on-screen brother, as sparks fly between the new arrival and Agent Booth’s female working partner Brennan.
