Julie Benz joins CBS pilot

Deadline reports that Julie Benz has joined an untitled supernatural medical drama pilot, which will be directed by Jonathan Demme for CBS. The casting is in second position since the fate of “No Ordinary Family” is unknown.

The new drama centers on Michael (Patrick Wilson), an ultra-competitive surgeon whose life is changed forever when his ex-wife (Jennifer Ehle), a doctor running a free clinic, dies and begins teaching him what life is all about from the hereafter.

Julie Benz is going to portray Michael’s sister, an unfocused and overwhelmed single mother with a huge heart.
