“The Player” – Season Trimmed To 9 Episodes
NBC’s “The Player” with Wesley Snipes, Philip Winchester and Charity Wakefield is like a fun little action movie each week. With new twists and turns and many secrets.
Unfortunately, the Network decided to pull the plug. While several websites just report that the 13 episode order has been trimmed to nine, the cast and crew already uses the bad word “cancelled”.
“To all the folks that watched and supported The Player, Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We’ve been cancelled.” Damon Gupton, who plays Detective Cal Brown on the show, tweeted. So “trimmed” is the new cancelled? Matt Bosack posted some related tweets as well and showed a picture of the closed set. “The Player” just wrapped episode nine.
Batteling against sports programm the ratings of the show sank, but as earlier reported the show already has been sold internationally, which shows the interest in the show. Support ”The Player” and watch tonight! If you enjoy the show, please make sure to tell NBC and add the hashtag #RenewThePlayer on Facebook and Twitter.
Here is an open letter to NBC and The Player fans from actor and fan Bryan Edwards: DEAR NBC: RENEW THE PLAYER
“The Player” airs Thursdays at 10/9c.
To all the folks that watched and supported The Player, Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We've been cancelled. #ThePlayer
